Default Chiefs Power Rankings

You've seen the rest, heres comes the best, I had actually talked to Grant about doing power rankings during the off-season and was almost going to start one after MJK had done his first one, but the girls got into it and started the catfight until Grant had stop the latest fight BUT here comes The Chief.

Chiefs Formula: Spot in overall standings - number of points in last ten games - 2 x number of points vs playoffs teams in the last week.

-->The lower the number you get the better you're placed.

These ranking are what they are, so please dont start the bashing, if you anything positive to say than do so, but do not start more personal debates. Thanks

1. Colorado Avalanche - Led by recharged Bill Guerin and surprising Mike Sillinger, the Avs are for real.

2. Florida Panthers - High powered Panthers should stay top 3 on Cheifs list for the season.

3. Dallas Stars - The duo of Alex Tanguay and Milan Michalek is on fire.

4. Washington Capitals - Rick Diepetro is off to a great start.

5. Montreal Canadiens - A team full of superstars is trying to find the right balance.

6. St.Louis - Dominek Hasek is playing great, the trio of Alex the Great, Sid the Kid, Hemsky the Bum are one of the best young lines.

7. Vancouver Canucks - GM Prusina knows how to find the chemistry, the canucks off to a quick start.

8. Minnesota Wild - The best offensive team and the worst defensive team,Nabakov will have to improve in order for the Wild to move up/

9. Atlanta Thrashers - The Thrashers are cooling off after a sizzling start to the season.

10. Carolina Hurricanes - The Canes reeled off 3 staright wins, chuck Kobesew playing like a top 6 forward, key injuries to key player though.

11. Pittsburgh Penguins - After 4 straight wins, the Pens lost back-to-back to the Habs. Back to the drawing boards.

12.Edmonton Oilers - The Oilers have the top line talent that hasnt worked together yet, lack of depth maybe hurting the oilers.

13. New York Rangers - After thier slow starts to the season, Jaromir Jagr and Dwayne Rolosn are turning up their play.

14. Chicago BlackHawks - The re-building Hawks are hovering around a playoff spot with many calder cadidates, notably Andrej Meszaros.

15. Columbus Blue Jackets - The jackets under new GM Sylvanfan look to charge up the standings.

16. San Jose Sharks - The Sharks have 11 points in last 10 games, the managment continues to add quality youth, the vets will likely be gone by seasons end and Sharks will be lower in the future.

17. Philadelphia Flyers - The Flyers have turned the corner, after tinkering with the rebuild plan, GM Noops may stick to winning this year.

18. Tampa Bay Bolts - After a successfull start to the season, the Bolts got 1 of 4 possible points versus league worse team in the Ducks.

19. Winnipeg Jets - The Jets started to rebuild, expect the Jets to fall down on Chiefs list but impressive wins over playoff teams cannot be overlooked.

20. Toronto Maple Leafs - The leafs will have to beat up on the lesser teams to make a push to become an elite team.

21. Buffalo Sabres - After the four game winless streak, the Sabres have won back-to-back but JS Giguerre will have to be much better than his 3-8-1 record.

22. Nashville Predators - The Preds won 4 straight and than lost back-toback, the 4 wins were against non-playoff teams and the losses were against playoff teams.

23. Los Angeles Kings - the Kings are stuggling, losing 3 games in a row and allowing 13 goals in those three games.

24. Phoenix Coyotes - Under new managment, the Coyotes lost first few games but have turned the corner recently, finding offensive chemistry, key players are hurting though.

25. Quebec Nordiques - The diqs, started the week off well, but have lost last couple of games. One bright spot, the diqs have the best powerplay in the league at 25% conversion rate.

26. Anaheim Ducks - The Ducks were horrendous to start the season but have gotten points in each of thier last 3 games.

27. Boston Bruins - The former powerhouse Bruins are still struggling this year. Although they do have points in 4 of thier last 5 games.

28. New Jersey Devils - The Devils have 3 wins in last 5 games, Jozef Stumpel is on a tear, sitting 2nd in league scoring with 21 points.

29. Calgary Flames - The Flames have thought of re-building but put off the thought, but if the Flames dont move up the standings soon, fans in Calgary maybe looking at players much younger than GM Axel.

30. New York Islanders - The Isles are struggling, and the fans in Nashville are very excited, the Preds have Isles first round draft pick for 07 entry draft.

31. Ottawa Senators - The Sens are better team than the standings indicate, few bounces thier way and their ties cud be wins and more points.

32. Detroit Red Wings - It looks like Mike Dunhams magic has ran out, Dunham has a brutal .849 save percentage and 4.17 GAA, Dunhams number will need to improve for the Wings to move up.

Cheers!

Jenny: Your ranking sucks! It's SO unscientific!

Maggie: Yeah? Well, I think your ranking sucks because it's stupid!

Jenny: Shut up! Why don't you tell me why it's so stupid? Your rankings don't even take anything into account!

Maggie: Whatever! I'm done with you! My rankings are better!

You brought in personal crap with your opening paragraph. Good one!

Anyways, nice rankings. Panthers probably shouldn't be 2nd. I think I had myself 3rd in mine but I won't go there don't worry.

Good job. I like your formula, my top 5 and bottom 4 are just based on a week by week basis. Overall records not really looked at.

I actually like the fact that you explain each and every team as opposed to waiting for them to fire back. Nice work!

The Hawks felt no pressure before.

14th makes us feel that pressure to stay there. And the team is very very inconsistant.

Now I will be wringing my hands every game. Where is my Nexium!!

Wow, the Avs are flattered to be atop the power rankings. There's still work to do in Colorado, as it remains to be seen how long veterans Guerin and Sillinger can lead the charge offensively, but the fans there are excited.
