IR: Some teams have had problems when players are out day to day. Previously we had stated that if a player is day to day they don't have to go on IR, but this means teams cannot call up players to replace the injured day to day player. So, as long as you cannot use them in the sim due to injury (day to day or worse) than you can put them on IR. Just make sure once they are no longer day to day they are off IR immediately. Do not get caught "hiding" players on IR to keep yourself below cap.
|
I will admit I put Savard on IR and I was over the cap, but Savard wasn't usable in the sim...his CD was down to 89...and I could not play him, therefore I put him on the IR and in the meantime I found myself the caproom. I was about to take him off the IR when I saw his CD had improved to 98 but that was already removed by the league...not trying cheat or hide players, just putting the guy on IR who I cudnt use. thx

Its not a rule but I have noticed that several goalies have fallen down to the 97 to 95 conditioning range, I guess its a reminder especially to new gms that it can be very difficult for the tender to regain his conditioning if he falls that low.

Forgive me if I missed something obvious.....
But is there anywhere that lists SIM injuries, or are they only listed under ratings, and when you download the file for editor? I know we used to have a list for the injuries two years ago at the end of each SIM, but the format for posting summary's has changed.

There's a link to the injury list on the stats page (bottom left)

A great way to start really long losing streaks is playing a tired goalie.

If he'd read my post, he'd notice that I specified that I knew that.

GREAT POINT! Do not, as the Hawks usually do , use the tired goalie as a backup. That is an excellent way to have the goalie you are using give up 5 and the tired goalie get himself insterted in the game.
Some of us learn real slow

The key to this point is the AHLer has to be on your CPHL roster to play any games.

No kidding eh? WDF is with all this free advice happening today?
Actually one of the big strategic points is do you play your backup against weaker teams or stronger teams?
My approach has always been that you need to make hay against the teams you should beat, so I start my #1 against the Sharks. I figure if I'm going up against a really strong team i have at best a 50/50 chance of winning so might as well toss my #2 in there.

Well, in the case of the Isles, and considering every team pretty much is elite compared to us... do I start Shields every game????

I've found in the past that the SIM is a whacky creature. I've played line ups that I was sure would lose, only to see them come out and hammer the other team like 8-1. I've had games where I though I had the other team on the ropes with all their top players out, and their goalies both at 95 CON while my whole team was at full healthy and got my ass handed to me. Next time I play an elite team I might ice my sure to lose lineup and walk away with a 9-1 win.

no doubt. one time a few years ago the Sabres had , I believe, 5 injured defencemen. I believe Shawn Heins was on my first pairing, and we went on a bizarre winning streak. once my dmen (which included Scott Niedermayer and Robyn Regehr and a few other 'stars') came back, I was back in loserville
