WASHINGTON — Federal agents have broken up a plot by two neo-Nazi skinheads to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives said Monday.
Just crazy, I don't even know what to think. You would figure we were beyond crap like this.
“Both individuals stated they would dress in all white tuxedos and wear top hats during the assassination attempt,” the court complaint states.
So they were going to blend into the crowd. Subtle.

This is something that I've been very concerned about. You can't tell me there isn't at least 3 million people in the US all sitting around dreaming about shooting "some black guy who thinks he's gunna tell them what to do."

This is what really annoys me about the comments made by Sarah Palin (Paling around with terrorists) because Obama is clearly putting his life on the line running for the office. I think that speaks enough to his patriotism.
He could easily make a ton of money on Wallstreet or as a Lawyer, he was the president of the Harvard Law Review.
I remember hearing a little while back about a retired author from England claiming that if Obama was elected, an assasination attempt wouldn't be a question of if, only when. His name escapes me at the moment tho...
Really, think about it. First black President in history of America... Certain groups of people, for their own misguided reasons, will loose their poop.

Why shouldn't there be? If there was ever a reason to riot, I can't think of a better one. I hate violence, and he may yet prove me wrong, but so far he's one of the few people on this planet worth smashing a few windows for.

You don't have to be a fancy author to think that. I'm sure this thought ran through the heads of many when they heard Obama was running for president. Clearly Obama knew that this might be a risky proposition (and I commend him for doing it regardless), and hopefully his security team has prepared for anything.

Very good point. I don't think it was Sarah Palin's intention for Obama to get assasinated or anything, but Obama definately is taking a risk here and Palin's comments about paling around with terrorists can only make it worse.

I don't think the Neo-Nazi, KKK, or White Supremacist groups are smart enough to pull off an assassination of the President of the United States. The Secret Service are probably more concerned and prepared for attempts from well funded, highly organized terrorist groups from the middle east. They will take threats from the local hate groups seriously. Although I really doubt the skinheads would have the means to follow through on any assassination attempt.
Something I've been thinking about a lot lately is his inauguration coming up in January, should he win. It's such a highly publicized event with tens of thousands of people. There's no way they could make that completely secure. I'd have to think they'll use bullet proof glass in front of the stage, or something. Crazy.

You obviously haven't been around race riots before. The riots you speak of would be black vs. white, just like the Rodney King riots. I remember the time well, and it was scary as hell and my city was specifically being targeted by gangs because the courthouse for the first trial is located here. There were people being attacked and killed based on their race. The gangs used the trial as an excuse to go after white people. How is that any different than skinheads attacking a black man?
What I want is for the secret service to do its job and find all those skinheads BEFORE they have an opportunity to do something to Obama if he is president. I will not be voting for him, but if he is elected he is MY president and I would be devastated if he was assasinated. The aftermath of such a horrible act would be so horrendous I don't know how I would get through it.
