Default Ever flown on Virgin Blue?

Hey guys,

I have a very long Virgin Blue flight in a few days, all the way across the pacific.

Anyone ever flown with them? What should I expect? I flew Quantas last time and had a good flight. I went VB this time due to short notice.

I flew Virgin Blue, from Sydney to Perth ( The 5 hour flight felt longer than the 13 hour flight across the Pacific)

Internationally I assume there better, but domestic the plane was like flying with sardineservice (Sky Service) or air trashcan. (Air Transat)

I have flown with them a couple of times. Not bad, as low-fare services go. Like RyanAir or EasyJet if you have ever flown with them, but a bit better it seems to me... a little more leg room. I have no idea what the Trans-Pacific flight will be like though, but it will likely be hell.

One good thing about Richard Branson's airline: all the staff are female and HOT. My advice: have a few drinks and then see if you can't join the mile-high club with one of them.

Oh and they cabin music is stuff like Red Hot Chili Peppers (instead of stuff like Celine Dion on Air Canada).

VB Doesnt fly to North America so I assume you are flying UA metal out of SFO ot LAX or maybe AC via Vancouver or NZ via LAX?

If you are leaving from North America you arent going to be on VB metal over the Pacific (you will be connecting onto them when you reach AUS) - I suggest going to SeatGuru.com to check the seats on whatever carrier you are using.

They fly the same fleet type and approx age as Westjet's fleet.

Like WestJet they are a low fare airline, no meal.

When I took them they served similarly to westjet, small drink and snack, really great BOB menu, the only problem being that they only take NewZealand or Australian currency, no Credit/Debit. If your flight is over 2 1/2 hourse I suggest getting some AUD Currency.

Also you have no chance getting an exit row seat or front row unless you pay up front. They have inflight TV (wasnt on my flight) I assume its like WestJet where its complimentary but its best to call them to ask.

Here is a picture.

The whole fleet isnt converted, if you can call and ask for the Aircraft Registration number I can check to see if its been converted - remember that there is no guarantee that will be the aircraft - that just means that is the Aurcraft scheduled at the time you call.

I am not sure what the above poster means when he says RyanAir or EasyJet - Westjet and Jetblue are far better comparisons and are in an entirely different class than that dung from europe.

MYK

Well the above poster was me and what I said was that VirginBlue was a bit better than those airlines (such as having assigned seats), but you still don't get a whole lot of room, a meal, or a guarantee of a clean seat.
