I would suggest just sitting down with the yellowpages and circle places that interest you. Then just go about phoning them and try to get your foot in the door.

Where are you from anyway? Clearly not Canada... Italy, judging from the handle?

I offer the following as a genuine attempt to help you out; have you had your resume looked over by somebody who specializes in resumes? I ask because I found your post hard to follow with grammatical errors; and if your resume looks the same then I can see why it is possible to be getting passed over.
I do realize that this is indeed a less professional setting than a resume; however it is possible that somebody looking at CP might be looking for somebody with a business management degree; but may stop short of contacting you after reading your post.

Winsor_Pilates pity about Arsenal 2day they should have gotten a goal.
True I not from Canada from Trinidad in the Caribbean.
yups went and got my resume looked over by someone who specializes in that.
Just wrote this post in an informal fashion, didn't intend it to be professional. But good point ken.
Anyhow intend to check a staffing agency and see if i can land a temp. job for the while. As well as send out some resumes to a few places.
Thanks for the advice so far.

You must be cheering for the other teams.
Glad you are liking Calgary, welcome to the city and best of luck to you.
I'm not in the business field so I can't help you there, but based on the amount of labor shortage, I can't imagine you'd be long looking for what you want.

I am going to assume you have a SIN number?
With a Buisness Management degree I would be calling all the oil Companies, ask to speak with someone in HR and ask if they are looking for anyone that fits what you have.
Cheers.

Yups got an SIN number
goin n carry in some resumes to a few companies and get some feedback.
Went to a job fair at the Round up center last weekend everyone basically said 'check our website' which is of not much use to me as the positions advertised on their sites are mainly for persons who have experience. Can't imagine how I am supposed to get some experience if no one is willing to give me a chance and see what I have to offer.

Yeah, I found the job fair to be a bust as well; unless you were looking for a job pouring coffee at Timmies. I got a lot of the "here's our website" type of responses as well.
As far as getting experience; have you considered starting out in the mail room of the type of compnay that has work in your field? Often it's not just what you know, but who you know.

A few people have mentioned it, but do some cold calling - call up HR people, go and drop off your resume at places that you are interested in, etc.
As for the experience part, I hear you but still apply to those jobs (unless it is quite clear that you are not a candidate). For two reasons: 1) the stated qualifications are what they desire in the ideal candidate (meaning that you do not necessarily have to have them all), and 2) if you send in an application, who knows you might get an interview (good way to get a foot in the door), or they might have another position that suits your skills.
Good luck!

Also may I suggest reading the business section of the newspaper and any Calgary business magazines, the companies featured there can be a good place to start...and some of your background research will already be done

Bartending in a hotel isn't the best job in the world, but it certainly is one of the better ways to meet people in buisness.
