Default The cheesiest character on TV

This is a difficult one, but wouldn't most agree that the cheesiest actor on a TV show right now is 'Horatio Caine' On CSI Miami? I mean the season opener when he was down on one knee in Rio by the statue of Jesus? I was laughind so hard.

THE most over acting actor on TV since Captain James T Kirk on the original Star wars?

I can't be the only one that get's a kick out of this guy.

Funny thing, looking at the title of this thread, Horatio is the first person that came to mind..

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Horatio either. Every episode seems to start with the crime being committed, then cut to the CSI's arriving on the scene, and then just before it cuts to the opening credits Horatio whips off his sunglasses and says something deep and profound.

Kirk was cheesy but I liked him anyways.
Horatio is efing, embarrasingly terrible but the show has great visuals in HD, so I'll sometimes watch it.
I'm curious, what do the ladies think?

CSI shows in general have about had their day in the sun, but yeah, that ginger really takes the cake. He's almost "so bad he's good" but not quite. He's just bad. I like that dame though. The blonde one. Sure she looks like she might be about 3 feet tall but that's okay. I like Guns n' Roses and Axl Rose is only 40 inches tall so I'm not too picky.

You are exactly right, except I would say that he never whips off the sunglasses and says something profound, he usually says something really stupid like a pun or something that makes you just shake your head or laugh.

I know what you mean, at first when I was fully aware of the cheesiness, I liked it, but then it wasn't even funny anymore. At least Kirk is still classic. I think the producers should play up his over-acting and make it a little self-deprecating, which Shatner is the absolute master of, but I don't think H's actor is capable of doing that.

i can't stand watching CSI Miami because of him, though i really enjoy the other two, though the Stella chick on the NY version can be a bit much at times

the main problem with ginger boy is that you don't see a character on the screen, you see a bad actor trying to look good for the camera

She will always be Ainsley Hayes (The West Wing) to me - much better character on a much better show.

But Yeah, David Caruso is ultimately cheesy. There are some others that are pretty bad, but I don't understand how that show can seem to get such good ratings - do people watch it purely for the fromage?

CSI is the fakest, most annoying, cheesiest, more artificial show ever. I can't stand any of them.

I find alot of the sitcoms particularly bad, I don't know if it counts as its old but pretty much the entire cast from friends made me want to gag.

Andy Millman on When the Whistle Blows is by far my favourite cheeseball.

I agree. I can't understand why they work dimmly lit offices. Really, if you are looking for evidence in a murder or doing a autopsy, you'd probably want a little light in the room. Am I the only one who can't figure that out.

I thought the original one was pretty good when it came on , and still watch it. Miami is the cheesiest, followed by NY then the original. But even the original - sometimes they photograph the evidence, sometimes they garb it immediately. Sometimes they go through the room with a magnefying glass and identify everyting, other times there are loads of police wandering around. And since when are the CSI's detectives questioning people? They make the actual detectives look like glorified body guards.

Not that I expect realism - it is TV for entertainment - but a little consistency would be nice.
