MLB Playoff Thread
Well now that the Twins have won the central I thought it would be a good idea to start this thread.
AL Matchups:
Oakland vs Minny
Detroit vs Yankees
The NL matchups are not yet set as both the Dodgers and Padres are still playing. One will face the Mets, the other gets the Cards.

So close, yet so far for Houston. Almost thought they were going to just get in.

Padres win the west and will face the Cards, the Dodgers are flying to NY to play the Mets.

Poor Detroit having to face the Yanks after that great turnaround season that they had. Unfortunately, they just could not hold on. Anybody have any idea how they did against them this season?

LOL, what a way to win the West too. Bochy had to run out to argue a call on the peannant clinching out because the umpire forgot that it was a force play at second and initially made the wrong call.

A's off to a good start vs Santana, now Zito needs to shut down the Twins.

Well Zito is doing a nice job of letting the Twins hitters beat themselves so far. If Minnesota loses this game, Oakland takes this series in 3.

That sound you heard was Scott Boras laughing in California as Barry Zito took a no-hitter into the fifth inning. Cha-ching!

Is there anywhere that you can listen to these online for FREE? Or do I have to pay for it...
I live with: a) no cable, b) no radio that carries the games during the day (although I might get the night games)...which makes me have no way of knowing what's going on....

Try espnradio.com - i know they are broadcasting all the games, don't know if it's free or not. Gameday on MLB.com is also good, it's free and gives you a fairly good update on the action.

What a great game by Zito and Thomas. The A's have decided to start Haren in game 3 rather than Harden.

Nope doesn't look like it as I am getting a talk show while the Cards-Padres play.

Attaboy Thomas. Zito didn't have his best stuff today, but he still managed to hold off the Twins. And geting this win against Santana was huge and hopefully the capitalize on some weaker pitching coming up.

That insurance run was just huge for the A's..if they end up losing the game because of Bradley losing the ball in the rafters, it would've been really tough to bounce back.

It was 0-0 in the 4th then someone named Albert Pujols stepped up and cranked a 2 run HR off Peavy. 2-0 Cards

Is it really worth it to ptich to Pujols when there is a man on base?
People continue to walk Howard who hit .240 with RISP and pitch to Pujols who was .375 with RISP.
Redhot: 2-0 Cards on a Pujols homerun.

Pujols is good enough that if the Cards get decent pitching against the worst offense of any team in the playoff, that he could steal his series by himself. Pitch around him
