I wish that was the case. Unfortunately I think that predators like these end up getting seperated from the general jail populations. I'm not exactly sure what it entails (seperate cells and prisons wings or a seperate facility all together) but it's pretty much guaranteed that they wouldn't last a week in a normal prison.

Yep I agree. Animals like this should not be offered any sort of protective custody and me secluded with like minded animals in another wing of the prison.
I say sentence the jackass to a 5 year prison sentence in Kingston Pen but with a condition he must serve out his sentence in gen pop. Dude would be dead within 24 hours, either that or get a** raped so many times he would kill himself before ever getting out.

I actually like this idea.
For the most severe cases, place the inmates into cells "strategically" so as to enhance the trauma endured.
Switch up the inmates every year or so to ensure the scum gets to go through the entire process all over again with some other freak.
For example: Place man convicted of child pornography (like the one this thread is about) with a very large inmate who enjoys the company of fresh men.
The year after that, move this guy over to a cell with the most violent and unstable inmate in the prison.
