Continued……. Big Shake Up In Philly
Philadelphia – Simon Gagne is returning to the team that drafted him, as he was part of a 6-player blockbuster (where does it fit on the punk meter??) trade between the Detroit Red Wings and the Philadelphia Flyers.
“Our goal is to win a CPHL championship next year, and our goal is to put together a team that can do that this year,” Flyers GM Noops commented after making the trade.
The trade represents a major shakeup for both teams. In exchange for Detroit’s best player, Simon Gagne, Philadelphia sends Detroit one of the best snipers in the game in Jonathan Cheechoo, one of the games best defensive centre’s in Jason Arnott, and newly acquired defenseman Andrew Ference.
Along with Gagne, the Flyers attained Michael Nylander, and young STUD (yes Noob he is a stud) defenseman Keith Ballard.
“Getting Ballard was very important for us. With Ballard we now have two great young defenceman in Ballard and Duncan Keith that will be able to lead this franchise for years to come.” GM Noops was thrilled to say.
Rumour has it Nylander is not excited about the rebuilding process and is seeking a trade.
