Default Elton John!

Anybody go? I was there and it was an amazing concert

Started off great, then a little slow as he played songs off the new album that nobody knew, then back to the classics. 3 hours total. Probably the best concert I've ever been to.

As a kid my parents made me take piano lessons and I really sucked at it. Elton John is very much fruitty....but I think he's a great piano player, and from what I hear one hell of a show man. My wife is a big fan, so as a result we're going to this show tonight. Mind you this was one of the few times I didn't shoot her idea down.

Elton was awesome last night. I listened to his new CD a few times already and enjoy it. It was kind of sad to see the disappointment in the building when he was singing those songs. All in all well worth the $150 I paid for the seats.

agreed, his new CD has some great songs. I was the first seat in my row, so I was about ready to snap at the people moving around during the new seat as I couldn't see anything. I didn't pay 150 bux to see the back of their head

Classic Elton John is some of the best music ever made.

There are probably a dozen Elton John songs in my top, say 200 songs of all time. None of them are Philadelphia Freedom or Bennie and the Jets either!

i guess my mom was nice enough to get my sister and a few of her friends some random, upper deck tickets to the show. so my sister and her friends have just gotten their beers when this random guy comes up to them and asks "are you guys young and energetic? i mean do you like to give er??" and (instead of thinking "what the hell?...") they respond yes. right answer apparantley cause this guy works for the tour and gives them 4 floor tickets about 10 ft away from eltons piano cause i guess they like to have rowdy people at the very front of all the shows. to top it all off they got their tickets signed by the man himself sometime during the show.

even though elton's music isn't really my thing, seeing 'rocket man' performed live 10 ft away from you would be pretty sweet...

No, but after seeing him I think Elton John is 100 times more manly than you are Gordon. Definitely the best performer I've ever seen live. No one else was even close.

I love people who bash Elton John and don't even know what they're talking about. He's written some great songs. The only songs you've probably even heard are Tiny Dancer and Rocketman but you feel that by knowing those two songs out of his many albums that you know all his music.

Just started my internet music jukebox for the first time in a few weeks. So I reshuffled the files and was thrilled when one of the first 3 songs was "Funeral For a Friend".

This is the case with Elton John: His best work is rarely talked about in music circles or played on classic rock radio.

That song will get you going.
