I came across an extra DSL modem given to me at work....So, I have it now, can I connect to the internet right away or do I have to go through a nasty service provider to actually get it to work?

You need a DSL provider.

I have AOL through dial-up, can I either use the DSL instead, or do I have to pay extra for their DSL service?

You will need a DSL service. It's different than dial-up.

If you decide to make the switch from dial-up to DSL, you should wear a neck brace for the first little while when surfing and downloading from the 'net. The transition in modem speed may be a little hard to adjust to. You will be amazed at the difference in speed. It's light years difference.

Some hotels I have stayed in only offer dial-up data ports. How freakin' uncivilized is that? That's the way Fred Flintstone used to do business.

GIVE ME DSL, WIFI OR GIVE ME DEATH!!

Oops, sorry, kinda got carried away there.

Not if you use Telus DSL in Calgary LOL...it could be slower than Dial-up sometimes hahaha....

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.
