Pens make a move to bring Bertuzzi back to the Steel City.
Betruzzi was anxious to answer all questions upon his arrival back in Pittsburgh.
The Pittsburgh Penguins made a move to bring back a major piece of last seasons winning ways. todd Bertuzzi was aquired in exchange for young guns Alex Perezhogin, Radim Vrbata, and a 2nd round pick. Bertuzzi spent 32 games in a Pens uniform last game and played stellar scoring 14 times and adding 22 helpers for 36 points and +16 rating. However the reason for his early departure was not production rated, but because of lack of discipline; Bertuzzi racked up 93 penalty minutes and put his team in penalty trouble far too much for GM Goffie's liking.
This time Bertuzzi says he is a different player. " I plan on using my head a lot more then my emotions this season. I think I am coming into an ideal situation in Pittsburgh where I can concentrate on hockey and not worry about off ice issues." Bertuzzi was reserved when asked about his expectations for this season. " Well last season I gotta chance to play along side Peter Forsberg, so things were easy for me, I am not sure where I will be suiting up this year, but I am sure I will be surrounded by great players. With the forwards on the Penguins roster it will be hard for me not to put up some points."
GM Goffie was not available for comment at Press time, but it is expected that Bertuzzi will be in the lineup for the Pens next preseason game.
