Flames 3 Quacks 2

but even better...
Shots
Flames 43
Ducks 25

MA Fleury should have been 1st, 2nd and 3rd star in this one.

Flames seemed to find their firing power but had trouble solving the youngster.

we keep looking to get better and will address more positions as the season continues.

Preseason Game Three: Vancouver 3, Colorado 5

Game story:
The Canucks continue putting plenty of shots on goal, which has been a positive of the preseason. The back end has been disappointing, but again, this is only preseason and changes can easily be made. Whether ie be a rotation of the goaltending tandem or different defense pairings, Coach Tippett knows his team has the potential.

Preseason Record: 1-2

New lines same results...Pens edge Bruins by a goal, 4-3 this time around. Alexander Perezhogin plays awesome with a goal and 2 assists and then finds out as he steps off the ice he is dealt to the Howe conference...Details to follow

St.Louis comes to play with a 4 point night, but the PK allows 4 goals as the Habs held on to win their first pre-season game 5-4. The Tampa Bay Lightning took advantage of the lack of discipline from the Canadiens and the 11 powerplay chances. However, it was not quite enough as the Canadiens scored 2 power play goals, 2 even strength and added a shorthanded goal to out score the Lightning. Things were close and exciting in the final moments as the lightning pressed for the tying goal with Jeff Halpern and Kieth Tkachuk in the box for the Canadiens.

Too many penalties was the consensus following the game which saw the Canadiens shorthanded 11 times. Our PK unit got some good practice tonight, but that's not what were looking to get done. We need to show a bit more control. The rematch comes tomorow night. Perhaps the clubs will stick to hockey.

Hawks finally win one!

After a sluggish start in the opening period in which the Hawks could only muster 4 shots, and allowed a goal to the Nords, things picked up in the 2nd period. It could have been the threat that the boat would go into dry dock if we didn't get a little more production on the ice.

The remainder of the game was all Hawks as Steve McCarthy scored the Hawks ONLY PP goal of the preseason. Hawk's fans world wide celebrated as the puck whizzed past the ear of Roberto Luongo and bounced off the twine. There was dancing in the streets! Cheers and ovations rattled the mountain sides! The Hawks had a PP GOAL!!!

The 3rd period saw the Hawks strike net 3 more times! 4 goals in all, count 'em! FOUR

The 3 stars of the game, were of course, Hawks.

Game Stars
1 - Ryan Miller (HAW)
2 - Thomas Vanek (HAW)
3 - Stephane Robidas (HAW)
