Default Channel 105... I'm bored

Bored working an overnight shift...

Does anyone out there know what Channel 105 (Shaw Cable) is broadcasting? It's been there for years (may have changed numbers) but it's some sort of graph that usually has nothing of interest on it. Just noticed tonight that it was very animated, lots of action and I got to wondering just what exactly it was a readout of.

Anyway, if anyone knows, please share...

Is that some hospital thing? I don't know specifically about this channel, but I think I know what you are talking about....I once heard that it was something to do with hospitals or something. But I don't know...

I believe that channel has something to do with the quality of cable signal you're getting. A buddy of mine was a cable guy and would look at that channel and be able to tell what kind of reception I was getting or quality of signal strength... though that was a while ago, not sure.

Yes, I believe they figured that mask was to old to have been his.

What if you don't have digital cable? I know I've seen the channel he's talking about, it may have moved.

It's an oscilloscope (sp?). In Edmonton, I have at least 4 of those things. Some are labelled with different cities such as Red Deer. Too lazy to turn on the tv at the moment to give more detail. I believe it's reading something at the plant (main distru), but what I don't know... frankly, I've been trying to find the answer for years. Everytime I have an appt with a tech, I make sure to ask, but they either ignore the question or tell me I'm not supposed to know.

Seems if they are bitching about not enough digital channels available because there are so many analog... then perhaps start by getting rid of my 4 oscilloscope channels.

Default Yeah... regular cable 105, not digital.

It's still going crazy tonight. Hmm...
