Car CD Deck to Home Outlet

So I have this idea...

I want to install a Car Audio CD player (not yet purchased, looking for a cheap one) to something in my home, so I need to be able to plug it into a home outlet. And I need it to use regular speakers for a home entertainment amp I bought years ago.

Has anyone done this before?

You will need a 12v DC power supply... not cheap. Check the ohm's on the speakers.... will a car deck even be capable of using them?

I think you can get a power adapter from like The Source for around $89.00.
