If true... then good for Family Guy!!
But I refuse to believe it happened. The media would have a feast with this, but yet nothing is being said about it. Wait... I see one little paragraph on a UK movie site.... ya right. Seems to me just some guy dubbing in a word into a clip, then uploading it to youtube.
But hey.. if the media actually decides to pick this up because it happened, not because they've seen it on youtube... then I'll be eating crow.

I watched it on Sunday, but I honestly don't recall whether it was bleeped or not.

Details of how it occurred were not available this morning (Monday), but somehow the use of the F-word during Sunday night's broadcast of Family Guy got on the air in at least some markets. In other areas it was bleeped. The unedited version of the scene, however, was quickly posted on YouTube.com by a viewer who comment, "The F-bomb was heard plain as day." Another predicted that someone at the network is going to be "in some deep schtick."
|
That's where I found the info... sorry for not posting that at first, and just the youtube link.

Not really a media site... and they quote the UK site word for word. Not to mention quoting a youtube user comment in the story. It's been more than 24 hours... plenty of time for a mother to write a nasty letter to the local paper and tv station.

you know when I was watching it last night I thought I heard it but then I thought "Oh it must have been some other word instead". But I can't for the life of me remember what I thought it was.

Ok, here's my question. When FG first came out; during the intro, didn't Stewie used to say "F-in Cry" and now they've changed it to "Laugh and cry"?

I don't know about that. I watched an interview with the Family guy team and they were all saying that is one of the most asked questions of them and it's BS.

The strange thing is why hasn't this garnered more media attention? One would think this would be a pretty major story given how people over-react to stuff.

Good gawd, the US would have absolutely flipped out if it happened. First they have a boob with a large piecing show up on national TV thanks to a couple of hasbeen musicians and now this?!? They'd have absolutely gone insane if it really got out.
They freak out at stuff like this however don't even bat an eye at Dennis Franz's butt all over the screen every NYPD Blue episode. I can't think of anything much more obscene than that.

Things allowed on US television:
Fights
Shootings
Blood
Internal organs
Rape scenes with no private parts showing
Male and baby's buttocks
Things NOT allowed:
The 7 words you can't say on TV
Any female nipple, bare buttock, or genital
Any sex showing any private part, even in good taste
Something's horribly wrong here. Anybody ever watch Austin Powers on Superstation, and then A-channel/City TV? There is a bit of a difference. But the rule of thumb, is violence allowed, swears and sex not.

This is what I thought too... always was 'laugh and cry', just happened to sound different due to Stewies lisp.

I used to think that too... except that, really, F'in cry doesn't fit into the song, laugh and cry makes a lot more sense.

You think so? Laugh and cry implies happiness and sadness. F'n cry to me implies uncontrolled crying.
I could be wrong; I have heard songs wrong before. (Blinded by the light.......... )
