Default Volleyball Leauges in NW?

I was wondering if anyone plays hardcourt v-ball on this board. I used to be in a league a few years ago which in now gone. I dont have a team so I'm just a single looking to join a team. Anyone? I would prefer the NW but I'll take what I can get. Team CP anyone?

We play at the volleydome on Sundays. What position do you play? One of our middle guys may be moving to Edmonton next month(sucker).

The vdome is across from the U of C.

Volleydome is a good place to play in the NW. They have nice hardwood courts, but the leagues fill up fast. I have a team playing in Rallypointe. The downside is that it is in the far south and the courts are plastic tiles (which isn't too bad). The nice thing about Rallypointe is that they have a good restaurant/bar as part of the complex.

I'd avoid the Calgary Sport & Social Club. They mostly play in small elementary or jr. high gyms.

James.

I played power and tech in hs, but can play any position. I'm not looking for a full on competitive league, just one where the people can pass and set, intermediate I guess. The last league I was in was a joke, but I am by no means a super star.

I was about to sign up for this then I desided to post on CP first and see if there was anything I should know.

We play with the CSSC in the summer, mostly because we like the beach venue. I would definitely avoid their indoor leagues. When you have to modify the rules so that you are allowed to serve from inside the court, it should remain with school age children.

Great Wings in the Pub as well.

The volleydome, as mentioned. Rally point.

The U of C has vball year round, you don't need to be a student, and is for a pretty reasonable cost. From beginners - to intermediate - to expert.

Calgary Sport and Social Club is not as bad as James says. You just have to realize its "sport and social" so the point is to go out, play, and then go out after that! Depends what level you play at as well.

I was surprised to see the renos going on at Rally Pointe. Much needed - hopefully they continue on with the change rooms too.

I played in the CSSC last winter and, while it was fun, it wasn't the level of competition that i was used to (Bones).

Rally Pointe leagues have a good variety of caliber, from rec to very competitive. Suits most purposes.... now only if it wasn't so far south!

The Volleydome is a great place to play... except that the capacity isn't very good. They need more courts.

I also play in a Men's league at the Talisman Centre (Calvol). Insanely competitive and great quality. Looking for another player too, so if you're really good and looking for a team, let me know and we'll see about a "try-out"

Nufy: Currently Tier 4, although we've been bouncing between 3 and 4 the last couple of years. We're looking for a Middle/Setter primarily, but any good player will be evaluated.

Hulk: If you'd commit, you'd be on the team no problem... BUT.. you seem to have a Thursday-Night-Commitmentaphobia...

Haven't played with you guys yet.

I played on The Peruvian Tree Frogs team for a couple years and then on a team that I can't remember the name for.

Wait a minute....

Are you Daryl ?? If so I thought you set for that team...Or was it Tom...

ANy way its Corey here. I Played a game or two with you guys last year.

If you are looking for a setter I am up for the job.

Let me know if you are interested.

Cheers.
