Milan wants to see more meat on models
Yay for no more "gotta plug the drain when they have a shower, otherwise they are so skinny they'll slip right down it"
http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/09/...orts/milan.php
Like the Spanish organizers who recently banned overly thin models from the shows at Madrid fashion week, which begins Monday, Moratti echoed that it was time to stop "offering the public an unhealthy model" of the female form and urged designers to adopt less preternatural standards.

For a quick second I thought your thread title meant they were referring to this.
In all seriousness though, good to hear.

I am really glad someone is trying to do something about this. I am sick of seeing these emaciated looking models being held as the standard of beauty for women. I don't think it is unreasonable to want a woman who is 5'8 to weigh 121 pounds or more.

Yuck, really?
I'm a pretty normal don't like fat chicks male, but I can't stand the unhealthy rib look, that is just sick. I don't find holocaust survivors attractive.

the "drama" continues, as Spain now bans five models:
http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNew...916?hub=Health
Organizers of Spain's top annual fashion show on Saturday rejected five models as being too thin to appear in this year's event.
....
Five of the 68 models who showed up for appraisal failed the test, the doctors said. The models were over 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighed less than 121.25 pounds, Monereo said.
"They had a body mass index below, well below, that which is considered normal not just by the Spanish endocrinology society, whom we represent, but also by the limits set by the World Health Organization," Monereo said.
.......
"Clearly we don't want walking skeletons," Solana said.
