Default Chris Creamer Shows Respect To Calgary '88

http://www.sportslogos.net/

On their main page, they have the logo for the '88 Olympics as the Random Logo Fact. I never realized that they shaped the tips in the form of cowboy boots until today.

Just thought it was a cool thing for people to see.

The first Canadian city to ever host the Olympic winter games, Calgary used a logo with three distinct images. A snow flake for the Winter games shaped like a maple leaf to represent Canada are the most obvious. However a subtle aspect of the logo are the tips of the flake/leaf that are shaped like cowboy boots representing Calgary as the 'Stampede City'.

And doesn't the snowflake have "C's" throughout it, representative of Calgary and Canada?

Yes. It is made from ten interlocking arcs which look like the letter "C" (five big, five little).

When I was in grade 9 in 87-88, we learned how to draw the logo and they told us all the little tidbits about what the logo represented.
