Default Upgrading RAM on my MacBook Pro

So I got my MBP 2 weeks ago love it except for its lack of stock ram. So I desided to upgrade to 2Gbs from the stock 512mb. I went to Memory Express, and they were out of the Mushkin Apple RAM and had no idea when it was coming in. So after a few days of researching on the net of what kind works and doesnt work with a MBP I found a good deal at OEM Depot for 1 GB sticks that match the manuals requirments for ram. I get home put the first stick in, and nothing. Put the second stick in and it boots up. Try both together and nothing, so okay i figure the one stick is bad, drive back exchange the stick, drive back home. Put that stick in and it works with 2gbs. Then a half hour later, my MBP reboots itself, then again it reboots 20 mins later. So I take the new stick out and just use one of the original ones I had bought, it still reboots itself. So I take that stick out and try the replacement stick it runs fine for over 24 hrs no problems. So I take the stick of ram back to day and exchange it get the new one home(now the 4th stick of ram) fire it in, my MBP doesn't even boot up, so I take it out put in the original 512 with the one stick that works and everythings been working fine for 2 hours. I phone OEM Depot to tell the guy that this stick isin't working and he gets ****ed at me, asking me are you sure your mac can take 2gbs and are you sure your doing things right?
I've been a PC guy my whole life, I know when ram is bad and this is acting like bad ram. But the guy at OEM is acting like this is my fault and is basically saying that I'll have to upgrade to different ram and wont refund my money. As for upgrading ram in a mac has anyone had these problems? What could I possibly be doing wrong?

Oh yeah , and I got a email from Memory Expresss today saying that the Mushkin Apple RAM just came in too, what a **** off!!

So in other words it's always best to deal with Memory Express?

Throw a fit, ask for manager etc etc. Go to Mem Express Yada yada.

I've never had a problem with adding ram to any of my Macs so it must be something with that kind of ram. Have a look at online support. I know for my iMac, online support gives more RAM specs than the manual.

Did your MB pro come with an Apple hardware check CD?

Try verifying disk permissions too just in case.

Cant you just RMA it with the manufacturer - OEM is terrible to deal with - them and Laptop Depot.

As per issues installing RAM, Call for Help www.callforhelptv.com had a recent episode about upgrading the RAM in your Mac (what a pain in the azz - thank goodness I work mostly with PCs).

Here is a website with that problem, and more specifically, relating to upgrading the RAM.
