Default New World Trade Center Designs

This was actually revealed last week. I was sick last week so I looked and I haven't seen it posted anywhere. I'm still not 100% so I may have missed it but here is the link

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060907/...edevelopment_7

you can also go right to http://www.wtc.com to see more about it.

If it were up to me I would just build the towers the way they were but with morden safety features. I've talked to people from New York who feel the same way. It would kind of symbolize getting knocked down but getting right back up again.

i'll believe it when i see them break ground

did anyone watch the Penn & Teller Bull##### episode about designing the freedom tower? it's been 5 years now and they still haven't done a damn thing except bring out revision after revision of what they should build

i'm also of the mind that they should build to the exact specs of the older buildings with saftey features in mind, and modernize the buildings to make them glean and look better than the old ones ever did. that would symbolize the fight against terrorism better than any of these stupid "freedom tower" designs (and i REALLY hate that name, it's on par with freedom fries and operation iraqi freedom)

...not to sound disrespectful, but could you imagine how haunted that site is today?

The problems with building as per, or similar to old specs are: who would ever want to work in what would be the biggest target to terrorists ... it will be a massive target anyway, but that would make it worse. Also, frankly the buildings were quite bland, expectations are such that any new building never mind one at ground zero are such that esthetics are far more important than they used to be.

I'm with Jon Stewart. They should leave the site as it is. As a symbol of inability of the bureaucracy to get a single thing done in America. Between Silverstein, the Port Authority, the crane operators strike, Pataki's involvement, it's all one great big giant mess. What should be a memorial to the people lost has turned into the worlds biggest ****ing match.
