Theodore was in no mood for reporters after making an
early exit from the Pens practice facility on Sunday evening.
Jose Theodore stormed off the ice after run in with head coach Lindy Ruff. Ruff apparentely wants more out of the allstar goalie who in Ruffs opinion "is more concerned with his social image then his hockey."
This is a huge blow to the Pens organization as the former NHL Hart and Vezina winner was the clear MVP of the Pens last season going 35-19-7 with a stellar 2.53gaa and 6 shutouts while posting a .903 save % before getting injured. It was Theodore's late season injury that caused the Pens to plummet from 3rd to 6th place in the Gretzky and make a early playoff exit.
It is unknown what Jose's status is in Pittsburgh but it is known that he is now available and could be had in the right deal. Both Theodore and Ruff had no comment on the issue. GM Goffie would not comment directly on the issue, but said "I think Ilya's departure proves that any player is available in Pittsburgh."
