Wild name Captain

The Minnesota Wild are pleased to announce that in anticipation of summer tournament, the team has selected its team captain and alternate captains.
Joe Sakic has been named the new Wild captain, taking over for Dan McGillis, traded during the off-season.
Paul Kariya, former captain of the Wild in 2003/2004 will be one of the alternates with Brian Rafalski and Scott Young also being given As.
GM Farhall commented.
"We have a lot of leaders on this team but ultimatley we looked to Joe as the guy that has the experience and leadership to take this team forward."
