Can any gamers out there give me any help on how to get good (> 70) chemistry among defensemen?

I"m currently playing as the flames with generally most of the original roster and it seems as though that nobody really goes well with each other. Thanks for any help.

Happy gaming.

Make sure each player is in his natural position. Having Reinprecht at C will give you a lower rating than having him at LW. Also, don't put one type of player on each line (don't make all 3 Scorers or playmakers). Try to mix and match them a bit, with 2 scorers and 1 playmaker. It depends on the person you are using too, so your best bet is to just play around with the lines. When you get an injury, you'll probably have to mix and match again.

These are my current lines followed with their chemistry
Reinprecht Langkow Iginla 100
Gelinas Bergeron Fleury 100
McAmmond Zigomanis Kobasew 80
Sejna Lombardi Donovan 100

Clark and Simon are my fill ins.

Leopold Boynton
Regher Ference
Warrener Montador

Oh ya!

Traded off Turek, Clark, Commodore. Signed Osgood as an UFA and Heinze as well. Heinze 57 is doing a great job as a 4th line spark plug, chipping in with some timely goals.

Same with me, a very silly feature if I do say so myself.

Maybe someone can help with my problem...my cd-rom can't seem to read the NHL05 disk. I tried running the E:\setup that it suggests in the manual but nothing seems to work. Anyone have suggestions?

Cmon guys, just like in real life, Petr Buzek is the key component is a cohesive Calgary Flames defensive unit. Since he's still on the roster, dress him, and I bet we'll see the favourable results.

Unrelated NHL 2005 questions.

a)Is there not an "opening" anymore? Not "EA Sports, its in the game,"narrated by some NHL'er, but one that pust to music with real video and video game video.

b)Is there no special celebrations anymore after you win something big? I won the World Cup last night with the default Flames (roster and lines, except when Yelle got the flu in Game 1 of the best of 3 Final, so Reniprecht went in). All the other EA games over the years, there would be some cheesy celebration with guys holding the cup up or impromptu team picture etc.

c)What about all that real video that showed up in the trailers of things like Flames fans..I thought they put that somewhere in the mix.

I have PS2...is that the reason? Or does stuff show up like that when you do a league of dynasty mode game.

Beefs - Shane Donovan..the rink announcer must be from the Bob Cole school?
Hero lines taking away from a 4th line?
Changing lines are tough, and even at its slowest speed, very tough to keep proper possession in the offensive zone....or, for that matter, forecheck to stop a breakout if you lose possesion in the zone.

Browna,

a) No, there is no video opening anymore. I don't think there was one in 2004 either?

b ) There are even more celebrations now. If you win in OT during the playoffs, they will jump from the bench and do a dog pile on the scorer. Saprykin game 5 style. I also won the Stanley Cup and the celebration is pretty lengthy. Also shown is the other trophies like the Campbell for the west winners. Below you can see the Stanley Cup winning photo.

c) I think those videos they showed us were just to increase the hype in the game. The game only shipped with one Cameo video, and that's the Naslund opening video. For the others you apparently have to download them and put them in some directory yourself.

If you have 2 or more cd/dvd rom drives, I have noticed for myself that after installing Alcohol or Daemon tools that sometimes my DVD rom drops out of the picture.

I just uninstalled those tools and restared...voila my G drive is back.

On a somewhat related topic (NHL 2005)

How can you find other playmakers in the game?

Although I enjoy these extra features in the game, it is kind of hard to get 'chemistry' within the lines without going through each team's roster in the trade player menu.

As well, I highly suggest installing the Pengrowth Saddledome addon found here:
http://www.cyber-nhl.net/files/viewer/?F_ID=1095991224

Nothing is sweeter than winning the stanley cup at home in an arena that looks a lot more similar to our own. Much respect goes to PLG04 who made it. All it needs now is Steve Strachan and Harvey giving out t-shirts in the crowd.

oh yes, the sea of red would be nice as well.

I have a question about this game, the one for the gamecube version. Is there any way to sort the stats into league leaders? All I can seem to do is sort the stats team by team, it doesnt make much sense why they would have taken that function out of this years game.

I too can't compare my players stats to other players in the league with the PC version.
Only league stats I get are Team standings.

I was looking at some of the free agents and one of the availible players is R. Campenelli (sp?) or Rick the Temp of Muchmusic.

There were also some other guys that looked like game programmers or something.
Kind of a cool thing to find by surprise.

...Now only if I can sign B. Myhres
