Wow - Great Stamps WIN!
What a finish in the Stamps game. DeAngelis kicks a 52 yard FG with less than a minute to tie the game. The Stamps hold for a 2 and out, Als get a costly major penalty on the punt return, and DeAngels kicks a 53 yard GF on the final play to win.
And it was also nice to see Damon Duval come over through the Stamp celebration to congratulate Sandro.
What a nice win. But the Stamps receivers need to hang onto those footballs.

Very exciting finish. Second time this year Sandro has kicked a winning field goal at home with no time on the clock.
Did you see him dancing after it went through? Hilarious.
Receivers didn't do a great job, but Copeland and Lewis at least made their catches. A couple of those drops almost cost us but I thought Hank did a great job, again, of managing the game. He's not doing anything spectacular right now, just playing really solid and not letting the game get away from him.
Montreal has a terrific team, they played really well. Turnovers killed them tonight. Their run defence is very good.

ET had a "redemption" type of catch at the end. I thought he should have cought that bomb earlier in the 4th. And Rambo dropped that prayer Hank threw while avoiding the sack in the 2nd quarter.
I like that Hank ran the ball a bit. That really seems to open up all other parts of the game.

Very gutsy game tonight...mistake free on offence, the guys not getting down on themselves...it was great. We were fortunate to get some plays called back on penalties.
Thurman had a case of the dropsies all night, but came up huge to set up the Sandro game-winning field goal...exciting game overall, regardless of the result

Burris is still a moron. If he connected on a few horrible throws he made the Stamps would have won by more. If there is one place they need to improve at it is the QB position.

Mistake free?
Burris had some brutal throws today. He sucks. Overthrowing or throwing the ball into the receivers feet. He is frustrating to watch.

I meant in the 2nd half...no major mistakes. The guy moved the ball & put us in position to win the game. His 2nd best game of the season, by far.

Mistake free? I believe Calf is referring to the fact that for maybe the first game this season the Stamps didn't turn the ball over. Burris carried the team offensively tonight, Reynolds didn't much room to run and when he did get free the play seemed to be called back because of penalties. I think Hank played very well tonight and deserves alot of credit for the win.

Just because Montreal doesn't catch a Burris pass or just because a running back does not fumble Burris is now a hero. Come on Mike and Brad the guy made obvious mistakes that no starting QB should make. He overthrew the ball on a couple of occasions and at on one play he threw the ball into the receivers feet. If we had a competent QB this team could be 9-0. QB is the only position that we need improvement in IMO.

I'm pretty sure you're picking out two plays to dump on the guy. I've yet to see a QB play perfect. I actually saw Calvillo over and under throw the ball tonight...he even threw it into spots where there was no receiver whatsoever once.
The guy played a solid game against a team that was 7-0 and did enough to get the win.

Some stats:
Burris was 25 for 35
310 yards
2 TDs
0 INTS
those are the kind of numbers a starting QB should have...

That's exactly what I was thinking as well.
Was he perfect? No. Did he win? Yes.

Great win tonight.
But the dumping on Burris makes me a little tired. Sure, I wish he was more consistent. But there were at least 3 dropped passes tonight - including Rambo on the 5 yard line. And Copeland had a case of the dropsies 2 weeks ago. Plus I can think of at least 3 TDs called back because of penalties in the last few weeks.
I think Henry is cutting down on the mental mistakes - taking the sack rather than throwing it away, for example. And he's taking off and running more than he did at the beginning of the season.
Far too easy to dump on Henry IMO.

No QB in the world is that good. Please go ahead and refer me to the last CFL season in which a team was undefeated. Perfection is not attainable in sport and if you think it is, you don't need to be pinched, you need to be bitch slapped.
Hank only made 3 bad throws in the entire game, at the most. He didn't fumble, he didn't turn it over and we ended up beating the best team in the league. He sucks!
Receivers have been dropping balls, in the end zone no less, since the beginning of the season and somehow it comes back on him. I saw someone who was in control and managed the game very well tonight. But I don't expect 100% perfection either. He's a human being, it's not possible.
No one suggested he was a hero, stop over-exaggerating.

funny these two comments are in the same post...I think that Rambo drop happened on a play where Burris threw the ball away as he was getting sacked

Except that he just signed an extension.
This was the first game I went to this season and it was a good one. I think the Stamps are still a little sloppy. Too many dropped passes and fortunate to get back a couple of fumbled balls.
But you gotta love a game where your kicker boots to 50+ field goals in the final minutes to tie and win the game. Never seen anything like that. Frick he's good.
Some dumb penalties on both sides of the ball as well. It boggles my mind that this professionals can't show more composure out there.
Fun game.
