Music Help
All you country bumpkins of CalgaryPuck, I need to enlist your help.
My sister-in-law is getting married in a couple of weeks and my wife is putting together a powerpoint video to be shown at the reception. My mother in law, ever so helpful, told us about a wonderful song she heard by George Strait. All we have to go on is that it is by George Strait and some lyrics from the song. The lyrics are "nobody loves you".
I'm not going to buy song after song until I find the right one, so I'm hoping there is a country fan around here that can help me identify the song we're looking for so I can save my money and only buy the one song or CD.

Are you positive it's George Strait? Positive those are the exact lyrics? What about this one by Lonestar: http://www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/l...-you-6864.html
I heard from a friend who's seen you again
Out on a date at night
Romancin', slow dancin'
Holdin' on so tight
When they asked you about me
All you could say
He's nobody, he's nobody
Well nobody loves you
And nobody cares
And nobody wakes up when your not there
And no one can miss you the way that I do
Oh nobody, oh nobody still loves you
Out of sight, out of mind
You didn't waste anytime
Making me part of your past
And there's no stopping
You've forgotten this love I thought would last
I guess I was blind 'cause I can't see
How you could say,
I'm nobody, I'm nobody
Well nobody loves you
And nobody cares
And nobody wakes up when your not there
And no one can miss you the way that I do
Oh nobody, oh nobody still loves you
Well no one could miss you the way that I do
Oh nobody, oh nobody
Well nobody loves you
And nobody cares
Nobody loves you when your not there
(Nobody loves you)
Nobody loves you and nobody cares
(Nobody cares)
Nobody loves you when your not there
Nobody loves you

Artist/Band: Strait George
Lyrics for Song: I Cross My Heart
Lyrics for Album: Pure Country
Our love is unconditional, we knew it from the start.
I see it in your eyes, you can feel it from my heart.
From here on after let's stay the way we are right now,
And share all the love and laughter
That a lifetime will allow.
I cross my heart and promise to
Give all I've got to give to make all your dreams come true.
In all the world you'll never find a love as true as mine.
You will always be the miracle that makes my life complete,
And as long as there's a breath in me, I'll make yours just as sweet.
As we look into the future, it's as far as we can see,
So let's make each tomorrow be the best that it can be.
I cross my heart and promise to
Give all I've got to give to make all your dreams come true.
In all the world you'll never find a love as true as mine.
And if along the way we find a day it starts to storm,
You've got the promise of my love to keep you warm.
In all the world you'll never find a love as true as mine,
A love as true as mine.

If it is the song I quoted, your sister-in-law has a weird relationship with her fiance...

Well Fredr, you dont' know my sister-in-law! lol Yeah I didn't competely type out my quote. It was supposed to be "Nobody loves you like me" or something to that effect.
Thanks for the help so far guys, I'll direct my wife and her mom to these ideas to see if thats what they're looking for.
Keep the ideas rolling in, maybe there is something else somebody suggests that they may like better.

I would suggest:
Brad Paisley, She's Everything.
Makes a great song for when the slideshow is of the bride.
There is also a really good Blue Rodeo song that fits, but i can't remember the name. Check back.

"Lost together"? I'm sure there are a few Blue Rodeo songs that would fit the bill though.
Another song I might recommend (although it isn't country) is Jack Johnson - Do you remember. It might be a nice song for a slideshow with pictures from their past.

Well, I hate country. If I had my way there would not be country songs used in this video. The bride and groom both don't mind country, but I wouldn't classify them as country listeners. She's a little bit country (I guess) and he's a little bit rock and roll. I don't think she has bought a CD for herself in years, most of her music collection is rock tapes from the 80's hair bands, but she hasn't listened to those for over a decade.
Anyways, my wife is taking the lyrics of the song over to her mothers today to see if any of those songs are what my mother-in-law had heard.

Yeah, but if you had your way, every other song would be Tragically Hip...and every OTHER song would be the Star Wars theme. HAHAHAHA.

Actually as much as I love The Hip, I listen to more other stuff than I do The Hip... besides, The Hip just don't make good wedding songs.
