Looking for a Women's hockey league

Not for me, I'm too hairy to pass for a chick

My girlfriend is looking for somewhere to play. She's never played in a league before, but is a good skater and very athletic. She's been playing shinny all summer so the skills aren't too bad at all.

Anyone know of any?

I don't know of a link or any info on the league, but there is the SAWHA league - Southern Alberta Women's Hockey Association.

I might be able to find more info, if it'd interest you.

Try this site out...www.nchl-calgary.com. They have a womans division. A lot of newbies playing as well.

The University of Calgary has a woman's league. You don't have to be a student to play, it just costs a little more.

Really? We looked all over the intramural site there and I couldn't find anything for women's leagues

Well, it has been a few years since I attended. I would call the intermural office. Sometimes they don't post the schedule till Sept. Things can be pretty slow over the summer. Also - several of the rec leagues are non competative (morning hockey mostly), non contact and suitable for beginners.
