Default AOL Sucks, here's why....

AOL has decided to hand over all of its user's search queries to the government. Why anyone is still with AOL is beyond me...

AOL has given a number to identify its users for instance rumkitty8282 becomes oh, let's say, 1809762. How long before people crack who is who?

Of interest is user 17556639 who affectionately searched this...

17556639 how to kill your wife
17556639 how to kill your wife
17556639 wife killer

I've got a couple links on my site where you can hear someone trying to cancel AOL and a leaked internal guide on how to keep AOL users customers for EVER.

Scary. Cancel AOL if you have it.

AOL SUCKS

I heard a recording with a customer wanting to cancel his AOL and they wouldn't do it. Might be the same one. If I had that problem I would have gone beserk.

That recording is surreal. The CSR is droning on and on...

"You're annoying the **** out of me."

I do miss those days of getting those AOL CD's in the mail.
They sure flew real far... Great wannabe throwing stars.

The best was when they gave out the floppy disks; back when floppy disks were useful; circa 1996. I don't think I ever had to buy floppies after that point.

An important lesson; keep in mind that whoever your ISP is, what you say on the internet can and in this case is monitored.

The search queries are quite distributing, but I found it funny in the middle, he searches for "steak and cheese".

Well, all companies will have retention tactics. However, I would say that that's going a bit too far....

Its unfortunate that my curiousity got the better of me on this one.

It reminds me of a site probably long defunct that a friend showed me about a decade ago called "The Creeping Eye"

Sick shaat for days.
