Default Seattle Seahawks

Does anyone in Calgary go down to Cheney, Washington to watch the Seahawks training camp? Its open to the public, and the players will sign anything for you. My wife and I go every year. If you are a Seahawks fan, I would recommend going. Its only a 7 hour drive.

I'm a 49ers fan. I was happy when the Seahawks joined the NFC West since it meant there was a better chance to see the Niners in Seattle once a year. I haven't made it yet, but one of these times...

No. However, I am going to see the pre-season game between the Seahawks and the Raiders. If it wasn't for Randy Moss or Ron Curry, I'd have no reason to see Seattle. I hate Shaun Alexander.

Ronald Curry? Probably the best number 3 reciever no one has heard about. Most likely because he was injured last year.

A few years ago (actually 2003, the year after the Bucs won the super bowl) I went to their camp. They run the thing at Disney's Wide World of Sports at the Disney World Resort. It was ok. I've never liked TB and never will (and in fact after a couple years ago, I particularilly hate T Bay teams).

I have been to the Seattle training camp about 4 times, and I went to the Miami Dolphins camp a few years ago. Wasn't the same, lots of people. The Seahawks dont have many people show up, probably because its in a little town in the middle of the prairie. Might change this year with their success.

It all depends on how he comes back, and if there are enough balls to go around. He'd make a great sleeper pick, but I worry about Brooks back there.

With what that team has at QB and the way they operate, young Mr. Curry might find himself playing behind the center this season!

Actually, I like Tuiassosopo as much as it is possible to like a Raider, but that is the worst run team in the NFL bar none. Aaron Brooks? Come on.

And I'd call Curry their 4th receiver. I'm pretty sure Doug Gabriel is ahead of him at this point.

I don't really have a favorite NFL team. I watched close a few years back and was a big Robert Smith fan, but after his sudden and unexpected retirement from the Vikings, I never felt any kind of attachment to any team. Although I like that Tomlinson kid but we'll see about Rivers, I have my doubts.

I have some buddies who take an annual trip to an NFL game and spend a weekend terrorizing the city they visit so I'm going with them this year. Going to the Bengals-Bucs game in Tampa in October. I think I'm almost looking forward to Busch Gardens more than the game but being in a crowd that large will be a first for me and I'm looking forward to checking out the pirate ship.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing. It's either the Seattle game or the 49ers game later in November. If I go to San Francisco I can also check out a Sharks/Penguins game on the Saturday before. I asked my buddy and he seemed more interested in the SF trip, so we'll see. I still haven't seen an NFL game live yet.

The Cowboys have 2 weeks of their camp in Oxnard, which is right next door to where I live. I've never been but they get pretty big crowds for the entire 2 weeks. I might go this year just to check out the madness TO is sure to bring with him - might even get to see him fight one of his teammates in practice

I dont think they do the Seahawk Shuttle anymore. Very difficult to get tickets now. The stadium holds 65,000 and 61,000 were sold as season tickets.

Yeah, was planning a trip down there as well, or to Denver with a buddy to see the Seahawks play...but unlikely to get tickets like I did 3 years back.

I've tried to avoid NFL talk as much as possible...the Superbowl still really burns my ass how the refs all but handed that one to Ben Myfacewasbasicallyberger and the Steelers.

I'm a huge Seahowks fan. Have been all my life (in fact, i expect there are a lot in Calgary, since we get our american TV feeds from Washington, so the Seahawks are on almost every week!)

I was thinking of making my first trip to see the Seahawks play. You say tickets are difficult to get. Do I even stand a chance?, or will I need some sort of connection to get tickets?

I am on the Seahawks' waiting list for seasons tickets actually.

They promised me and two friends we would be able to purchase 4 season tickets because we had contacted them soon enough, this was in December. They said they'd get back to us in April/late March to confirm and collect the rest of teh money.

So we paid them our down payment in December. They contacted us in April, and said Oh yeah, sorry about that but we had a 98% season ticket renewal rate. We sold you those tickets conditionally upon a forecast that only 95% would renew, and we aren't able to get you the tickets for this season.

Now we are on a waiting list for next season, and the Seahawks keep our downpayment money and we don't get squat.

/endrant.

Stupid Seahawks...

edit: oh yeah, and if you want seahawks tickets for next season, lemme know.

Looks like Curry IS the 3rd receiver now. Jerry Porter is done as a Raider apparently.
