Default Why does kd lang think she still matters?

http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNew...=Entertainment

Apparently not attending the World Out Games is a display of "intolerance", according to the singer who didnt matter much when she was at her peak...

Frankly, I don't see why Stephen Harper or any one else should have to attend this event, or any other, if they do not wish to. I don't recall the PM showing up for the World Masters Games in Edmonton last year either. I guess he is intolerant towards old people too.

Did Harper specifically say why he wasn't attending the event? Or did he just not want to go?

If he simply didn't want to go, that would be like labelling someone a racist for not wanting to go see the Olympic games.

Riiight... Now you're intolerant for not going outside.

Talk about blasting him. Intolerant. Ignorant. "hasn't got it in his heart"???
How do you go so far with so little? Dude skips an event and he's intolerant and ignorant.
Remember Cretien skipping King Hussain's funeral? (or was it something else?) That is an event that the leader of a country should attend. And sorry for using a liberal reference, I'd have said the same thing if it were Harper. The point is that just because you're a special interest group or a minority doesn't mean you're getting snubbed every time your country's leader misses your party. Just give it up, KD. Don't be so insecure that you need to blast someone else to make yourself feel good.

And why wasn't KD Lang at the Stephen Harper for PM rally? I guess that means she's intolerant and ignorant.

On the news it said that he had prior commitments and was sending another representative from the gov't to attend. Hopefully that'll shut K.D. Lang up.

I've always wondered, why exactly does there need to be a gay games? Is there a straight games?

I wonder if Lavar from revenge of the nerds will win gold again in the Javelin. As far as KD Lang goes, who the hell is she to talk, and why does he have to be there for that?

no kidding. It's strange that gay people are always saying that the only difference between them and the rest of society is that they love the same sex. I really have no problem with that, I seriously don't give a crap who you are screwing. But if being gay is so normal, why go out of your way all the time with events like these to try to distinguish yourself and announce to the world how different you are? If the only difference is sex/love, go frickin' participate in the regular olympics with everybody else.

It sorts of reminds me of when Iginla, after having good success, was touted as a great black hockey player by various media outlets, which i thought was extremely demeaning to Iggy. Trying to make it a positive that he is black and having success, only makes it seem like black people have lower standards to live up to. Iggy to me was always just a really great hockey player, and to tell you the truth, the last thing i thought about was his skin color. That is, until ESPN and every fricking media outlet decided scream it in my face. So instead of seeing Iggy as a great hockley player period, i started thinking of him as a great black hockey player. How ######ed is that? That just segreates him from everybody else, not pulls him closer.

We should all live up to the same damn standards. Whether you are black or gay, trying to segragate yourself only magnifies the diffferences.

kd lang can kiss my nads.

No doubt Table 5. I remember when Iggy was named Captain:
American media: "Iginla first black captain in NHL"
Canadian media: "Iginla Flames newest captain."

Canadian society is by no means perfect when it comes to race-relations, but I am glad we are well advanced compared to American society.

As far as the GLBT games goes, I wish it was in Calgary. I would have tried to enter to prove a point. Imagine if organizers refused to permit a straight athelete to participate. What would that do to the "tolerance" argument?

the Outgames are open to all, regardless of sexual orientation; all are welcome to participate.

I don't know anything about the "Gay Games" which is apparently another event, but I can't imagine you'd run in to much of a challenge if you wanted to get involved.

kd lang should shut her yap.
