Magic: The Gathering =D
Anyone here play? If so, where you around for Ice Age/Alliances and what do you think of Cold Snap compared to these, now ancient, sets?
I'll throw in my opinion after a few posts and my lunch =D

Hahaha, this is REALLY funny, but I was just looking at my magic cards and then I was gonna go read up on some of my old cards. Instead I clicked on offtopic on CP and then I see this thread.
Kinda emberassed but I am making a new deck just for fun from my 'new' cards I bought a few years back.
but I've been playing mtg since I was in grade 6 on and off. I've graduated high school 3 yrs ago so I've been playing for quite some time haha.
but for Cold Snap, its not that great if you are playing anyone who played after Ice Age cause theres no snow covered lands. Not many people use those snow covered lands when all the new sets have just the mana symbol of the land type it produces. I think it looks much better as well.

Well if they are from any of the sets pre-judgement that is where all the broken cards are. Especially in the Urza block. It was ######ed how broken those sets were. If you happen to download the Apprentice program from Magic-League.com I'd gladly play a game or two against it.

Around the time of Ice Age then. That's about aslong as I've been player. I did take a large break after Tempest though, not starting again until Oddessy.

With Coldsnap being in constructed and the other standard decks having such a hard time defending against the snow-abilities and creatures, Snow-Lands will become prominent again pretty quick. Snow-lands have also been re-printed allowing everyone to get in on the snowy fun!
My main problem with Coldsnap is none of the pre-cons are standard and it's so bloody small. It's rares are also pretty lacking, the un-commons and commons are a lot better in-game than almost any of the rares.

I'll give that site a check and possibly play with you. WOW! soudns exactly like me, started playing around that time, went to tempest. (haha, I actually completed the set) then I quit playing/buying for a bit, then slowly started playing again. Then when I used to play Diablo II, i sold items online for money. I used that money to fund me buying a few boxes of Oddessy. Haha, talk about being a 'geek'
As 'geeky' as this may sound but..
what are your favorite colors? (for deck building) I don't play tournaments so I don't care about those extended I/II banned/legal cards and such.

When i first started Revised was just released and you could still buy Antiquities and Beta packs at Sentry Box.
Back then we thought it was called Deckmaster, so when we were phoning around town, stores had no idea what we are talking about.hehe.
Funny that you started this topic. I was cleaning out my old room at my parents house and found my old binders. I totally forgot I had 3 mint Bazaar of Baghdads! I guess i'll be selling them on ebay this weekend.

Nope, it's glorified Pokemon cards for adults who still live at home.
All joking aside, is Magic still alive and kicking? I thought it had died a few years ago...
