Default Springsteen: Seeger Sessions

Hey guys.../ Gals...

Just putting this out there, for whoever likes country/folk...

Bruce Springsteen: We Shall Overcome (The Seeger Sessions)

This is by far the best album I have ever hear to date. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves up-beat country/folk. Basically, its all the songs pat seeger made popular just spiced up.

Song from the 1500's (Froggie Went A Courtin') if fantastic, Oklahoma Home, Jacob's Ladder, Mrs. Mcgrath... man... this album kicks ass.

If you're like me, and love to play guitar to songs, here is the link to the chords for all the songs:

http://springsteen-chords.com/a_wso.html

Basically there is only 1 song out of the whole album I dislike (Shenandoah).

Personal taste, some love it, some hate it. Give it a shot if you're into that kinda music, even if your not, try it out, you may be like me and love it. (All I used to listen to was metal, and went around north america following Ozzy and his ozzfest... weird i love country now huh?)

Cheers,

James.

Edit:

If you have XM Radio, This album gets a lot of play on Chan. 12 (X Country).

I haven't heard this album but I'd probably class a Springsteen- Seeger album under Folk-Rock. Calling these fellas Country is kinda sacrilegious to me.

You'll have to hear it. Seeger isn't in it (As far as i know), its just springsteen doing seeger songs with his own style.. which isn't very springsteenian style.

Most complain that it sounds like he's a drunk, slurring all his words on some songs, but i really like it. I obviosuly thing thats the way it was meant to sound.

All's I know I went to the same highschool as Bruce Sprinsteen. Freehold Highschool in New Jersey. Yay my claim to fame.

I have never really been a fan of Bruce, but I saw him perform Pay Me My Money Down on Conan O'Brien and I liked it so I checked out the album. I was surprised that I actually liked some of what was on there.

I've been a huge Springsteen fan since '78. I've seen him in concert ten times. I have to say, this album does not stand up to multiple listenings, for me. It might as well be anyone doing these songs.

A few of the guys from The Max Weinberg 7 play on the record too: La Bamba and Pender.

There's an hour show of this on PBS HD right now. I'm sure it'll be on again. I like them both, good music.
