Anyone ever see that segment on Dateline about people who are supposedly put to "sleep" during operations, but actually feel and hear everything during the operation and are unable to move or scream or do anything?

A guy I play hockey with had the... uh... snippy snippy operation done, and he said that they froze him 3 times and he could still feel what they were doing. After the 3rd time, the doctor didn't believe him and went ahead with it.

I had that happen to me at the dentist when I had to have my bottom wisdom teeth surgically removed. He froze the area twice with about 7 shots each time and I still felt it so he tried again with something that was supposed to be more powerful than novacaine and I still felt it. He didn't believe me after he shattered my tooth and said the nerve was broken so I couldn't be feeling anything but something sure as hell was making my leg flail about in the air like some kind of spy-move torture scene.

I broke my pinky finger playing baseball 2 years ago and had to have surgery on my hand. They had to drill a metal rod through my finger so it could be in a little "traction" like cast so the knuckle could fit back together.

The doctor froze it and when he was about 1/4 of the way through the bone he reached the end of the freezing, I almost broke the drill and I'm sure the whole hospital heard me scream. They immediately jabbed another freezing needle under my fingernail, man that hurt almost as bad.

What a great day, thanks for making me remember it...

Totally fake. Dwight Shrute is on the top left of the frame every time they show the interviewer.
