Default Foo Fighters Acoustic Tour

I went to the Foo Fighters acoustic show last night here in Van and all I can say is WOW!!! These guys continue to impress. This is the fourth time I have seen them live and each of the first three were pretty damn good, but last was just so impressive. They played lots off their acoustic disc that they released last year, but they mixed in some oldies and goodies as well. Included in there, was "Times Like These" and I couldnt help but think of the Flames montage video. A very cool version of "Best of You" with the crowd involved was probably the highlight of the night for me.

I know a bunch of people here hate a lot of mainstream acts, but these guys are worth every dollar. A very stellar performance and I know they aren't coming to Calgary for an acoustic show, but if they do in the future, make sure you get tix, you will have a great time and learn to appreciate this band a lot more.

I don't think it's too far fetched to say the most talented ex-member of Nirvana is still alive and kicking. So much energy, already has a huge catalogue of material. Their concert last year was outstanding, I'd love to see an acoustic show.

Agree with you there Habernac.

Dave is the king, super talented.

Their acoustic version of Everlong is great.

I agree with everything said so far.

In your Honor seems to get better with every spin.

And I have an MP3 of acoustic Everlong Dave did when he was on Stern; simply amazing.

I'm going to have to see if there are any bootlegs of these acoustic shows.

Do you have a set list?
Did they play old stuff like For All The Cows and Big Me?

I love the Foo Fighters... and while some of their acoustic songs were kind of neat... a lot of them just sucked.

They need to go back to rockin it out.

The only older songs that I can remember were February Stars, Times Like these, Floaty, Next Year Everlong, Walking After You and Have it All. There could be other ones, I dont recall though.

Also of note, Pat Smear re-united with the guys for the tour, thought that was pretty cool.

Encore was 3 songs, a very cool song Dave wrote while living with Kurt and Krist before they got big. Then it was a great rendition of Best of You, with the crowd singing the OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOO part in the middle of the song, that was so bloody cool. Then finally, Everlong to end the show. Dave was his usual goofy self between the songs, cracking jokes, reacting to a few audience members that walked down the aisle after the first three or four songs. Making fun of people who left between songs to go the washroom. The show was entertaining as hell, well worth the 60 bucks.

I don't know if I would go as far as saying that one is more talented than the other. It's an arguement that could go on forever but you have to recognize that it was pretty much Cobain who ended the popularity of glam/hairspray metal and for that alone he is a god in my books. The ability to play guitar and sing in a three piece and sound that full is an impressive talent in itself. Too bad he had so many difficulties in life.
