Default Food for thought for July 1: those who live in, and hate, Canada

The Globe and Mail uncovers the internet message board of the teenage wives of the suspected Canadian terrorists, who hate Canada at least as much as their husbands. Worth reading all the way through. And sad.

That is sad, especially since they've grown up here and been brainwashed on Canadian soil.

Note to all parents: Don't let your teenage daughters marry crazy religious extremists who will brainwash their undeveloped minds.

I got this over the email this morning:

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Shari law were told on Wednesday to get out ofAustralia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

A day after a group of mainstream Muslim leaders pledged loyalty to
Australia at a special meeting with Prime Minister John Howard, he and his ministers made it clear that extremists would face a crackdown.

Treasurer Peter Costello, seen as heir apparent to Howard, hinted that some radical clerics could be asked to leave the country if they did not accept that
Australia was a secular state and its laws were made by parliament.

"If those are not your values, if you want a country which has
Shari law or a theocratic state, then Australia is not for you," he said on national television.

"I'd be saying to clerics who are teaching that there are two laws governing people in Australia, one the Australian law and another the Islamic law, that is false. If you can't agree with parliamentary law, independent courts, democracy, and would prefer Shari law and have the opportunity to go to another country, which practices it, perhaps, then, that's a better option," Costello said.

Asked whether he meant radical clerics would be forced to leave, he said those with dual citizenship could possibly be asked to move to the other country.

Education Minister Brendan Nelson later told reporters that Muslims who did not want to accept local values should "clear off".

"Basically, people who don't want to be Australians, and they don't want to live by Australian values and understand them, well then they can basically clear off," he said. Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques.

I have no links, and have no idea where it came from. I'm assuming a publication in Australia?

I'll never forget listening to Rutherford on sept 11 or shortly thereafter... Some girl called in and basically said that the USA deserved it and so on. Rutherford entertained her for a couple of minutes and drew out that she was 16 years old, and basically hated the US because her dad and brother told her to.
She was from Lebanon, IIRC, and had absolutely no basis for her arguemant (at least nothing she could articulate on the spot, on the air). Just a bunch of "they deserved it" "they do all kinds of things to other countries" "they hate muslims so we hate them". Not one actual 'reason'. Just a 16 year old kid that hates an entire nation because her daddy does.

Yeah, sure there are people with pretty damn legitimate reasons to be ****ed off with the USA (and I guess, Canada?), but to poison your child's mind or your young wife's mind with blind hatred is despicable.

Australia has the right idea. What some of these people are advocating borders on treason. I sometimes have a huge problem with the USAs, Britains, and China's policies but I generally consider the first two Canada's closest allies and my critisism comes from expecting more of them.

Or Bruce of course.

From what I have read it is the other way around. Don't let your boys marry jihad witches!
