Come Party With kermitology on Canada Day
Hello all!
It's been a little while since I've really contributed to the board...but that's because I've been on vacation and all sorts of fun things like that. But that's not the point of this post. This is an open invitation to all of Calgarypuck!
On Canada Day at 11PM MT I will be taking the stage with my band at The Castle Pub on 1st street (by The Cherry Lounge) and will proceed to "rock this bitch" in celebration of our nations birth. We're supposed to start at 11 but you might want to come a bit earlier.
Some people might be wondering..."Man that kermitology guy always gets **** for being 'emo' so he must play 'emo' music." WRONG! My band plays mostly hard rocking stuff with punk rock influences (think along the lines of Lagwagon) and a bit of ska. We just like to have fun, so it'll be a good show. My band is a three piece (I play guitar) and my bass player and drummer are quite talented, so if you show up you should hear some good tunes. Most of our stuff is original, we butcher While My Guitar Gently Weeps (if you're a purist) and do a fun rendition of the original theme song to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Hrm...what other incentives are there? Oh, well I guess some of you could come and meet the legendary emo nerd of CP...
I don't think there's a cover, but don't quote me on that.
Oh and one more thing...please drink a lot of alcohol and have a safe way home, we get a cut of the bar sales and the more you drink...the more I can drink later!

I think that KG, Reg, myself and other musician wannabes on this board should come down and have a big time jam session.

Is the castle pub still a guttersnipe hangout?

If you like the Ship and Anchor, you'll like the Castle Pub.
Good venue for music and if I was in town I'd check out the gig.

I love the Castle Pub, but I haven't been there for quite some time.
First bar I ever went to (I think I was 16).
Anyway, I won't be able to make it, but good luck.

If you play "Slow Ride" by Foghat, I'll be there.

Yes. It's incredibly hard to use a computer when you've got a horrific case of double-vision. I get to have a CT scan this week...fun.

I'm not really sure what happened. It seems to have cleared up on it's own, but I had to deal with it from last Friday until Monday. Optometrist couldn't find anything wrong and neither could the optimologist, so that's why I have to go for a CT scan and see a neuro-optimologist.
