Default CP Investment Club?

I saw this idea posted in another thread recently and was wondering if something like this was feasible for our community here. I'm at the point where I'd really like to learn more about this area, but don't have a big pile of money laying around to go all Warren Buffet.

I know we have some really sound financial minds here. Would anyone be interested in such a thing? It could be a way to both do some learning, lose some of the fear of the stock market and make some money too.

How much of a pool of money is needed? Has anyone done this before?

I'm into it. Though most of the news I get is Japanese in nature. Still, a unique angle anyway.

I'm a financial planner but not a stock broker. I'm not interested in being a part of this but if I can answer any questions feel free to send me a personal message. I'll help if I can. I know some people who are in an investment club. It's not hard to do this and doesn't require a lot of money. I know a bit about how these run.

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

No thanks. I prefer to use my own money to make my own profits. I'm thinking most of the active investors on this site would be of the same frame of mind.

Yeah... unfortunately its probably better to start a club like this among personal friends, rather than semi-anonymous forum-frequenters. Investment clubs are good ideas, spreads around risk, more people collecting more info. You just have to make sure you're all on the same page as to what to expect from it.

Ok seriously, I recommend this stock. Falcon Oil & Gas (FO on the TSX). I bought this stock at $2.98 2 months. It ended up going to $7.00 not even a month ago. I more than doubled my money and cashed out waiting for it to crash backdown. I re-bought it at $3.70. Analysts are saying this stock should hit $10.00 by Dec. Take it for what it's worth. I already put my money where my mouth is.

You forgot Nortel, thanks!

Makes sense this might not be the best community for it, as to the other questions for anyone who has ever been involved in such things, what is considered an adequate starting investment?

Falcon is awesome. My friend pays $5000us a month for a newsletter so we got in at $1.10.

I still remember i had options on Nortel to buy at the strike price of $150us. Umm i don't think i hit it! hehe.
