CPHL Future Watch nearing completion

Some questions to ponder prior to the posting of the report:
- The Edmonton Oilers have dominated these rankings in the past, but for the first time they may be dethroned. The Rangers, Wild, Flyers are all candidates to be ranked #1 for prospects. Though the Oilers could still end up at the top of the heap again.
- A number of organizations have really turned around their organizations from a prospect standpoint moving up dramtically in the standings.
- The competition for worst prospect base is just as heated with teams like the Bruins and Jets in the mix.

Surprisingly no. You're not in the top half by any respect but you are definately not the worst. You have a number of solid guys on the farm who are already NHLers - Ryan Craig/Andrew Alberts (both of whom were traded to you from the Wild for some reason), Dustin Penner as well as guys like Irmen/Letang/Bell. Not spetacular but not horrible.

But then again you've probably traded all those guys aleady.

Yep...looking forward to seeing the finished copy...

I think that the Sharks are one of those teams that dramatically improved their prospect base. 'Course they were last in the rankings last year so they only had one direction to go!

Cant wait to see if the Wings went down in the future standings. Think I only have a couple teams to beat out to improve on my 27th or so finish last season!

Will be interested to see where I end up. Thanks for your hard work!! I guess I have to take the blame for the Oilers falling as I was probably too aggressive in trying to move them from the ranks of very good teams to elite teams in 04-05. Looking back I shouldn't have made one single trade with that team, in fact I had some other trades for prospectish guys that I should have made instead of the win now trades because I could have had that team set up to absolutely crush everyone starting next season. But hey, it's a game so go for it if you think you can eh? Still they have a good prospect base and a top notch CPHL team. A lot of what used to be prime prospects have also moved into roles as solid young players. I think they also have a few earlier picks in this years draft so that will allow them to reload here too. Besides if you rank number one for like 4-5 straight years it's generally a sign that the prospects you had were just that hyped prospects and never materialized into legitimate players.
