A prequel to the new incarnation of Battlestar Galactica is in development.

Ain't It Cool News passes on Sci-Fi Channel's press release:

bizarro...a "family" sci fi prequel to bsg? I hope its good; and the writers involved seem to make it a viable project...

I guess we'll have to see...
