My personal favourite off-topic thread that hasn't been around in awhile.
Anybody hear of a band called the Sadies?

In my car's CD changer, there currently is:
Kiss - Smashes & Trashes
Boston - Third Stage
Midnight Oil - Beds are burning
ZZ-Top - El Loco
Rammstein - Sehnsucht (appears to promote road-rage)
Amadeus Soundtrack (Mozart, to reduce road-rage from the previous CD) :P
I admit, a very odd assortment.

Lately I've been on a Canadian kick. The newest Theory of a Deadman is pretty good. Thornley's awesome live and their CD is good too. I'm also a big fan of Tupelo Honey. And just recently I ordered the new CD from Hurst.

Within Temptation is the best of that bunch, IMO. "Enter" is an amazing album.
What I'm listening to:
- Coheed & Cambria, "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV" Sampler (going to be a stupidly good CD)
- Shadow's Fall, "The War Within"
- A Wilhelm Scream, "Ruiner" (leaked)
- Opeth, "Ghost Reveries" (leaked)
- Dredg, "El Cielo" and "Catch Without Arms"
- Strung Out, "Exile in Oblivion"
- Sage Francis, "A Healthy Distrust"
- Minus The Bear, "This Is What I Know About Being Gigantic"

The only thing that has been in my car since I bought it and the only thing that will be in my car until the Sept 17 concert is System of a Down, I just cant get enough of the new one, but I sitll love the other 3 as well. "Steal this Album" is highly underrated in my mind

I would have said 'aside from Jack Johnson.. wicked list'.
But as for Elliott Smith, I agree that guy's music was awesome. I wonder if he would've killed himself if he knew how many dedicated fans he had. Well, I guess Kurt Cobain did. I highly recommend Elliot Smith to everyone who wants to hear some really creative, emotional, and melodic music.
