What kind of books and movies do you like? I don't really get that line of thinking. I can't identify with Luke Skywalker or Michael Corleone but I loved those movies. Well, 4,5,6 of on and 1,2 of the other.
Anyhow, there is an interesting "review" of the film on the editorial page of today's Herald by the guy who is normally the agriculture writer.
The guy spends a third of his column bitching about how only in Hollywood would they come up with the impossibly ridiculous notion of cowboys looking after sheep. Everyone knows, after all, that a shepherd with dogs is of course who you'd hire. Cowboys can't look after sheep. He also points out that two men in a tent would be "unhygienic" and it might stink in there, on account of all the beans they eat.
He also says that most moviegoers would be skeptical of the idea of gay cowboys and would see this flick as something of a joke because of that. The problem with that part of his review is that it is really dumb. Also, hasn't this rube ever heard of the Village People?
Then he goes on to suggest that since this "taboo" has been broken, the next logical step will be a movie about a romantic relationship between a man and some livestock. A time honored tradition among the hompohobe set for sure, but a really stupid thing to believe.
Anyhow, I hope this guy knows a lot about agriculture, because he doesn't know dick about anything else and he's got the imagination of a fencepost.
