Uh-Oh, the website has been taken off the page...gee a well written article about the signing 1 minute after FA starts.
No NFL team tampers....

It would make sense if Givens did go there because of the Crenell connection

They also got what many believe was the #1 UFA available in Lacharles Bentley. Cleveland on it's way up? Not in that division!

I'm waiting for the Broncos to get Abraham. He's restricted, but available.

I see today that the much hated Minnesota Vikings have snagged Green Bay's all-time scoring leader Ryan Longwell. Good...he had the worst year of his career last season....nice timing Vikes.

Panthers locked up Foster to a 3 year 11 million I think was the number. So I don't see them grabbing Edge for the moment. The Jaguars make a lot of sense along with being able to play his old team twice a year. I really think wherever he goes people are gonna realize how good he really is. While his breakaway speed has decreased, he has become such a good pass blocker and has so much awarness for the field. It's gonna be so weird if he doesen't come back to see Peyton doing play action with a different RB.

If the Colts don't bring him back who do you see them picking up? Sticking with Rhodes and drafting a running back or bringing in a FA?

You mean Ryan Shortmiss?

LOL

Lots of good kickers available and Green Bay has money to burn. I would expect Viniateri or Vanderjagt to end up there.

There are so many available, but I think not being willing to pay Edge means they also aren't going to go after a high priced free agent. I mean, why pay Lewis what Edge wanted? Doesn't make sense.

I think they'll draft one in the first round and either go with Rhodes or pick up a second tier free agent for insurance.

BTW....here is a great link for NFL free agency news.

If you scroll past the signings....which are posted hours before I've seen ESPN announce them, you'll find a list of confirmed visits.

Adam Schefter used to be a beat writer for the Broncos but he's all over the NFL network now. Anyone else have that channel by the way? It's heaven really.

http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/9300482

It usually helps to include the link.

James is a Cardinal. Arizona's offense suddenlly looks really really good. Man is it ever gonna be weird seeing him wearing a Cardinal jersey.

Yea DFF, Adam Schefter and the whole NFL Network is helping me a WHOLE LOT through this offseason.

So, let's recap some of the MADNESS this weekend shall we...

Corey Chavous signs a 5 year, 16 million dollar contract with the Rams. HUGE OVERPAYMENT, if I do say so. Especially with 6.5 million cap hit in the first year.
http://www.kffl.com/article/115/Rams..._contract.html

Brandon Lloyd has been traded to Washington for a 3rd rounder in 2006 and a 4th rounder in 2007.
http://www.kffl.com/article/115/Reds...rom_49ers.html

Browns have been BUSY!!!! LeCharles Bentley, 6 years for $36 million, biggest contract ever for a center. Kevin Shaffer, a tackle formely from the Falcons, signs a 7 year $36million contract. Joe Jurevicius signs a 4 year deal. AND Dave Zastudil, a punter form Baltimore signed with them also.
http://www.kffl.com/article/115/Brow...ee_Agency.html

Cowboys have signed OG Kyle Kosier from the Lions. Good pickup for 5 years for $15million. But puts them at an odd spot at the guard position, likely to move Larry Allen to left tackle.
http://www.kffl.com/player/5835/nfl

As discussed above, Edge signing with Arizona. A reported 4 year deal worth $30 million. Breakdown is as follows. Signing bonus of $7 million, with additional roster bonus of $4.5 million later this week. Base salart of $3.25 million this year and $5.25 million next year. This contract is MUCH richer then Alexander's contract.
http://www.kffl.com/player/859/nfl

Will Witherspoon turned down $11.5 million dollars from the Panthers to sign with the rams for $33 million over 6 years. With $15 million up front. Boy did the Rams EVER need a LB.
http://www.kffl.com/player/5650/nfl

Marlon McCree, saftey from Carolina, has signed with the Chargers. 5 year deal woeth $16 million bucks. Good signing for the Chargers.
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5403772

Now to finish, I will tell you what the VIkings have done. And I will save the best for last.

K Ryan Longwell signed from the Pack. 5 years for $10 million, with a $3 million signing bonus.
Wierd move for me, thought we'd go after Vinatieri, but I'm not complaining either way. He should do good indoors, as opposed to the Lambeau tundra.

RB Chester Taylor from Baltimore, signed for 4 years at $14.1 million dollars. With guarantees of $5.6 million.
Not bad, a good fit in Childress's system. A good receiver, and will work well with the backs already there.

Ben Leber, LB from SD, signed for $20 million over 5 years. With $4 million signing bonus.
Decent signing, not a HUGE name, but a solid player in coverage, which we need in Cover 2 system.

Now to what excites me the MOST!!!

Vikings have offered OG STeve Hutchinson an offer sheet, to make him the highest paid guard EVER.

7 years.....$49 million dollars......$16 million in guaranteed money....and it seems like the cap hit in year one is $13 million.
MATCH THAT SEATTLE.....as they only have $16 million in cap space right now. Will be an interesting week.

Eagles just signed DE Darren Howard from the Saints. They now have two of the best DE's in the game (Kearse is on the other side), although they both are getting a little old.

Looks like the Redskins are wasting their time again going out and getting big-play receivers(Lloyd, Randle EL) without having a QB who can get them the ball. Oh, they signed Archuleta also. Where the heck does this team dig up so much cap room? Every year they are spending.

Treveor Pryce from Denver to Baltimore is a bit of a surprise to me...he was pretty important to the Bronco scheme from what I recall.

Agreed on the Redskins....all these receivers..and who delivers them the ball? Snyder is a moron.

Brunell for 7 years 49 million still baffles me to the day. What the hell was he thinking?

Baltimore's defense just keeps getting better, however there offense isn't gonna get any better so really doesen't matter.

With Edge now in Arizona, I think it'll be intresting to see how much Manning helped him or vice versa. A lot of people have said without Edge Manning would not be as good at all, then again without Manning how good could Edge really be?

Mike Anderson must be ****ed.

He probably thought he was Baltimore's starter. He deserves to start somewhere.

I think they compliment each other. How much more effective will Warner be in Arizona with a stud running back? If the D-line has to respect the run and can't just rush the QB, it should give Warner time to throw. Which is what he needs more than anything. He is not a mobile QB plus he has the talent at WR. What Arizona really needs to do is strengthen the O-line. Give Warner time to throw and open up the running lanes for Edge. Then they will be a force to be reckoned with.

Arizona still needs to improve on their OL and defensively, but I think they can compete in that division now. The biggest thing to me is their coach. I firmly believe Dennis Green is one of the best coaches in the NFL and will take that team to the playoffs consistently in the near future.

They'll be drafting a QB I'm sure. I'm a bit surprised they let McCown go.

The Dolphins decided to stop waiting for Chargers quarterback Drew Brees to lower his contract demands and opted to give the Vikings a second-round choice to acquire quarterback Daunte Culpepper.
