Default UFA's

I sent a request about 5 days ago regarding signing some UFA's...I have not heard anything yet. I realize that Cheese is unavailable but when can I expect to hear back? I would like to finalize my roster soon for the draft and I need to do this first.

Just wonderin'...not complaining!

Just wondering who you have attempted to contact...the league or the agents? I would imagine that agents are no hurry to resign their players at this point of the season.

I sent to cphlufa...they are unsigned prospects so it should no problem signing them.

They have no agents to contact.

Well I doubt anyone is too concerned with UFA's right now considering the draft isn't until July...oh not to mention the fact that the playoffs are on!

so the teams not in the playoffs should just ignore their team instead of assessing how to improve it, make acquistions to do so and then shed the dead weight? Sorry, that may work for teams with talent but it sure doesn't work for one that is rebuilding. Getting these players will affect my whole approach to the draft...

The whole idea was to do this WHILE people are distracted...

If you're talking to agents about players that aren't your own, that can be concidered tampering and you could get into trouble over it. If you're refering to your own players, then the agents should hopefully get too it before they get overwhelmed July 1

Let me say this s-l-o-w-l-y...

They are UFA prospects that went undrafted. They have NO agents and they are on no team There there can be no tampering as they are true free agents.

Thus, I want to do this now before someone else does...they are quality and they are going to help fill some holes if I can sign them The problem is they have no agent to negotiate with until the league assigns them one. I would like this to happen sooner rather than later. If a trade offer is sent to me and I send no response for five days then I would be trouble, right?Isn't this similar?

Well these undrafted UFA's were there for the taking all year long correct? Can't you wait a few more weeks? It's only been 5 days man.

Sorry had some computer problems on the weekend. So I was not able to clean out the UFA account but to answer your question the UFA account has emails dated on SATURDAY which is NOT 5 days ago.

Computer problems I understand...As a barely computer literate person I have more than my share of these.

I have re-sent the message and I await your response. If I hadn't complained I would not know that you did not receive the mail (as you state in the latter sent to me).

Thanks!

After doing some searching the Panthers have also found some great unsigned UFA's...the Panthers organization won't comment at this time as to who they might be...

I agree with TG. His emails should be just as important now as they were at the begining of the season. If Cheese is still away, I can understand, as should everyone else here. But if the excuse right now is because playoffs are going, that's pretty weak IMO.

Kudoes to TG for keeping up to date with his team at this point in the season. I can't say I've done the same, and for that I appologize. If he's found some jems, let em have em now.

Default UFA signings

The Sharks are very pleased to announce the beginning of a wave of UFA signings. With the Sharks having few draft picks this year they have been combing the UFA market and have come away with a few players they feel would be highly drafted were they to be allowed to go unsigned.
Quan Representation has signed Girardi, Daniel (D) of the San Jose Sharks to a 3 year deal worth $.575 mill. (2-way deal)

Girardi is a solid D-man in his rookie pro season. He is the leading rookie scorer amongst D-men in the AHL and has played very well at both ends of the ice. 57GP 7G 28A +13 20PIM
Quan Representation has signed Wilson, Kelsey (LW) of the San Jose Sharks to a 3 year deal worth $.575 mill. (2-way deal)

From Hockey's future- "Kelsey Wilson was picked up from the Sarnia Sting to provide some muscle for the Storm last year. But what they discovered is that along with his toughness, Wilson has some other tremendous upside. Wilson is an obvious beneficiary of the new rules. He now plays on the power play, and has scored at a rapid clip throughout this season. He is willing to pay the price in traffic and doesn’t back down from more physically overpowering opponents. We are convinced that his upside is much higher than previously thought." 67GP 38G 31A +8 196 PIM
Agent the_only_turek_fan and Guadagnolo, Anthony (San Jose
Sharks)
(FORMER UFA) have agreed to a contract worth 1.00 million for 3 year(s)

This deal has yet to be approved by the league...
From Hockey's future:"Anthony Guadagnolo was stuck in the shadow of Danny Battochio in Ottawa for the past 2 years. But the trade that brought Guadagnolo to Windsor has been like a rebirth for the athletic goaltender. He has been incredible in Windsor with his combination of quiet movement and ability to steal goals. The Spitfires turned their season around when Guadagnolo became their #1 player. He has helped them climb to the top of the Western division." 48GP 2.75GAA .915 Save% 27-14-3-3 Ranked as the #4 keeper in the OHL

Two additional players have come to a verbal agreement with the Sharks and one more is in the final stages of negotiating. Finally, we are awaiting a reply from one other agent Transplant 99, you out there?) with one more possible addition.

Youth has been injected into the team and we look forward to watching it develop. All of these playes (IIRC) have been undrafted in the NHL and it will be interesting to see if they are picked up in this years draft.

Don't sweat it...it was obviously a computer glitch and that is unavoidable. It is also why I posted here.
