Atlanta dulls Sabres on a warm Georgia night!
Big Viktor Kozlov squeaks a shot by JS Giguere
The Atlanta Thrashers knew they were in for a tough evening as the Buffalo Sabres came prepared to play tough playoff hockey. In the end it was Buffalo's inability to score on the Powerplay that eventually did them in. The Thrashers played tough hockey and gave the Buffalo boys 9 chances on the evening to settle the score. The Thrasher PK unit played stellar once again and Patrick Lalime held the fort when called upon.

Patrick Lalime smiles after stopping another Sabres Powerplay!
Brendan Shanahan was the hero on Thursday evening as he set up big Viktor Kozlov for the tieing goal midway through the second period and then put the series away in Overtime on a nice setup from series MVP Anson Carter.
The Thrashers welcomed Bill Guerin back from the IR on Thursday, but the Sabres held the big man off the scoresheet. Bill was happy to be back and looks to contribute in a big way in Series 2.
Thrashers GM Peterson shook GM loooobs hand after the game and congratulated him on a fantastic series and season.
The Thrashers now prepare for a difficult series against the Carolina Hurricanes and Rick Nash who was traded away from the Thrashers at the start of the season.
