Just a tip. to get live updated cloud formations, right click in the tray to open up a menu and set it to update. It updates the cloud formations every 3 hours.

I downloaded it, wow it is really neat. I can't tell if it's actually changing because I can't sit and watch it. I'll check tomorrow.

Jeez Jordon... nice find, but judging by your icons you're an evil evil movie downloader!

This is driving me crazy. It just wont work for me. IT claims to be running, but my desktop is still the same as before. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it, and when I uninstall, it turns my screen to no desktop (just blue).
Anyone?
ps, the windows menus are in italian (not fluent, yet), so it's difficult to poke around without screwing something up.

off Topic I guess, but Calgary Flames, what version of Windows to you use to get the really rounded out Start menu and stuff like that? It almost looks like the screenshots of Vista?

I don't think this is really "live".
There is an image for every month to accurately depict snow and foliage changes, and the night view is simply stunning.
The cloud image bundled with Deskop Earth is (obviously) static, but selecting "Cloud Updates" from the systray menu and enabling automatic updates will retrieve a semi-realtime cloud image from the Internet.

Cool.
But I don't really understand this Active Desktop vs. Regular Wallpaper option.
Can anyone explain what the Active Desktop does?

Cool, but it is a pointless waste of resources.
What can you expect from a cooler drinker?

Day of Defeat? Time to go out and get BF2 my friend. I too would be interested in how you altered your tool bar like that.

Active desktop allows HTML elements to become part of the wallpaper, similar to widgets. It never really caught on (as far as I know) because it used some system resources and a few security alerts. Every tweak guide I ever saw said to turn it off. Overall, it is supposed to allow you to use some 'dynamic' wallpapers (like this).
And I think this wallpaper has been around for quite a while, but this is a new/better version. I saw it a few days ago under the heading "If you haven't looked at this in a while..."

The earth image itself isn't live. But the time line is and more importantly the cloud formations are set to update live every 3 hours.
waste of resources? It's like 4kb of ram being used. Woooooooow Buff, you're a tool.

I got ahold of "Windows Blinds" it's a program to skin your windows.
