Default Where should I buy blinds?

This is one area that is not conducive to "shopping around", seems to me that you basically guess on which company to get into your home and then pay what they ask. So my question: What company did you use, and did you feel like you got a good price?"

I have a friend who owns a blind company. She did all mine in my new place, and although it wasn't cheap they were done right. I can give you her name if you want?

The other option is Home Depot. Measure all the windows you want to do, go in and select the style you want, and they'll cut them to size. Blinds are fairly easy to install, so you can save a bit of money in the long run by doing this.

look at Mars blinds, they have very good prices but they have crappy customer service (price easily offsets service).

They will give you a quote (ask them if it includes installation) then if they say yes, ask how much less if you install them your self. The blinds we ordered, they installed for us, but they are so easy to install it might save you a few bucks

Probably depends some on what kind of blinds.

Home depot seems to have sales from time to time. Thats where we got ours for a about half the cost compared the builder - which means nothing I'm sure.

Home depot charged us about $100 to have someone come in and measure the blinds, and then install them after. Aside from the hassle factor, the advantage was if something doesn't fit it's their problem not yours.

i would not recommend home depot

my folks got their blinds done through them in their new place and they had nothing but trouble from them, aweful service, terrible follow ups, and simply horrific warrenty replacement

also when they came to install them, they forgot half the blinds at the store and it took another week for them to get back to the house

but they are less expensive than other places, i will give them that

We had no problems on the warranty replacement - but on reflection all the rest!

I guess after the experience of building a new house as long as they smiled and didn't keep asking for money we were happy

Can I change my vote?

Well you could always go to Wendi (blaa) I got the same blinds from Mars blinds for $2400 that would have cost me over $10,000 (including the so called 'Builders Discount')
