i don't go for this 'automatic raise' business. If you did a good job, sure go ask for a raise, but if you were somewhat of a floater and a then I don't think you should expect anything.
Yeah I hate the time-based raises. Why should you get a raise based on a defined time period. I don't know how this got to be the established way of doing things but it sucks. Companies should give an employee a raise after 4 months if they are contributing more than their pay suggests. Moreover, if an employee is simply meeting expectations, nothing more than a cost of living increase should be offered.
I'll get a raise for sure, just have to ask. I had the 10% figure in my head, just wanted to make sure I was in the ballpark. 20% in the Oilpatch sounds incredible.
