Default Canadian soldier axe'd in the head

Wow...

Who hits someone with an axe... seriously?

Glad he's in stable condition.

Quote:
The purported Taliban attacker snuck up on Capt. Trevor Greene and struck him in the head with an axe as the Canadian officer was sitting down with village leaders about 70 km north of Kandahar.

Some kid got axed in the head by a group of racist skinheads in Britain, on one of the train platforms a few months ago...pretty twisted..you really gotta be screwed up to do that to someone.

Our soldier actually survived the attack?? That's remarkable.

I guess they were speculating that some or all of the villagers might have been in on it. Apparantly a little while before the attack a bunch of children were taken away from the scene and all men of fighting age in the village were nowhere to be found afterwards.

And indeed it's pretty crazy that Greene managed to survive an axe attack to the head. Hope he gets better soon...

...
The officer updating the situation as quoted in the story tells a different tale:

said Fraser, who portrayed Saturday's ambush during a community meeting as a Taliban attack on the Pashtun honour code.

The code dictates guests are to be treated with honour and hospitality and Fraser said the attack is unprecedented.

About a 1000 years ago everyone was trying to hit each other with axes.

It's war over there, anything goes. What's important is to keep our resolve as a people and support our soldiers.
