Default Ticketmaster.ca Advice

My advice is when tickets are first released for an event Don't always accept the first set of tickets you get as people will give up the first set they get, and hence better seats will become available. Also don't pick seats based on "best available", instead pick the "level" or "price range" you want. When tickets are first released the majority of users will select "best available" and this goes according to ticketmasters idea of best available. For instance best available might be for row 45 on the floor, but instead you could get the club section right beside the stage by picking "100 level".

Also almost always additional tickets right beside the stage are released on the day of the event, a few hours prior. Sometimes instead of settleing for the last row in the building, your better off just planning on picking the tickets up the day of.

Now for my question: Does anybody know of a way I can get tickets for a specific section without having to call an agent, or physically go to a ticket centre? I'm pretty sure there isn't but i'm hoping i'm just missing somthing.

I think you have to call to pick a section. That is one of my pet peaves.

I also don't like the way they have best available. If tickets are $100, $50, $25, and $10, and I'm willing to pay up to $50 for a seat, there is now way to search the lower 3 price ranges together.

Not missing anything. This is impossible. Even the agents can't seem to do it alot of the time. The only chance you have is opening a ton of ticketmaster windows, and searching for more seats when you have some saved (they hold for two minutes). It sounds crazy, but I've actually done it: had fifteen windows open just to get two singles one row and two seats apart (for the Flames game in the 'Chuck on April 1st).

Back when it first came out in 1996 or so I used to be able to get front row (or so) to just about everything that came around on ticketmaster.ca. Nobody else seemed to know about it at first.

Now with everything really good selling out in 8-10 minutes and tm.ca sometimes crashing at the worst possible time I've gone to the 'day-of' strategy, keeping a window open while I'm at work which I search every 10 minutes or so, and have done well. Most bands seem to hold back some very good seats to foil the scalpers. Got amazing blue level seats to a few Flames games this year that way too.
