I am pretty excited to see the white stuff.

Gets me in the mood for skiing and hockey.

I wish it would snow more. What I cant stand is the wind.

I have lived in Calgary for almost 2 years (this May) and I can say wihtout a doubt that the Chinook is a pile of hocus pocus crap.

Every day they say there has been a "chinook" I check to see Edmonoton's temp and they are the normal 3-5 degree difference.

I like the burst of warm weather but it's days like this that really make it feel like Winter in Calgary. I don't mind it, it's a part of living here in Canada. If I wanted warm all around I'd live in California.

Walking to work helps though. I keep track of the days I'm glad I walk to work (usually due to snow or a major accident) and I'm at 13 so far this year, a drop from years past due to the nice weather we've had.

I would take white sandy beaches and clear blue/green water over this any day.

Snow sucks. You can't play hockey in the snow. The local rinks are covered in it. Skiing is the only thing good about it.

Chinook+Wind=not so bad
Snow+Wind=hell

I slid my car into the curb the other day...

Luckily, I had time to angle my tires...

lol.. and even more time to think about it... swear a bit, try to avoid it again.. swear some more... and have flashes of how bad it was going to be..

lol, not a scratch... that i can see, and no tire damage..

pheeeew.

Nothing makes me happy like driving the streets in ridiculously dangerous conditions. I'm not sure the city has even plowed Elbow Drive yet.

Words can't describe how much I love shoveling snow off of out door rinks and the roughly ten fold increase in car accidents. Its so refreshing getting up 20 minutes earlier to get to work on time and don't forget the wonderful sound of scrapping ice off the wind shield.

My mother passed in the winter months, and I just got a call from my sister that my father, whom has been battling cancer for a long time, was just hospitalized. Not looking good.

Winter of life is all I can think about. Even the beauty of a snowfall cannot dispel the reality of the metaphor.

Don't mean to dampen the spirit of those that love this, I just don't have the spirit of it myself...

Move along... nothing to see here...

My thoughts with you and yours, and my own tonight. This lovely weather Jordan is so fond of took my cousin yesterday in a car accident. Beautiful and deadly.
